"We recently stayed at a Best Western in Decatur, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing from start to finish.
From the moment we checked in at 10 PM, the front desk clerk made us feel like we were an inconvenience. She had a sarcastic, dismissive attitude instead of being welcoming.
The room itself was in decent shape, but when we took a shower, the tub would not drain properly. We reported it to the front desk and were told that “all the tubs are designed that way,” which didn’t make much sense.
The biggest issue was breakfast. The hotel advertises breakfast from 6–10 AM, but when we went down at 8 AM, nothing was available—not even coffee. The manager on duty said everything was down. While things happen and we understand that, we were told it would be resolved the next day.
The following morning, the same issue occurred. At 6 AM, nothing was ready, and by 6:45 we were told there would be no breakfast again. The only option offered was coffee they had purchased from Circle K across the street.
To top it off, when we checked out, there was no one at the front desk for over 30 minutes, so we ended up leaving our key cards on the counter and leaving.
Overall, between the poor service, lack of basic amenities, and unfulfilled promises, this stay fell well below expectations."
