The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Rooms are very dated. The fireplace in the room didn’t work and the phone in the room didn’t work when I tried to call the desk for assistance. The front desk staff wasn’t very helpful. View of the lake was the best thing about the property.

We stayed in March while they were in the middle of a huge renovation. Therefore it is best to make sure these rankings are properly framed. Our room was clean and spacious. We were however right by the entrance door from the parking lot and therefore had a LOT of noise when people were coming and going. It had a small deck but at 45 degrees with a wind off the lake, we did not sit on it! The renovation will be nice but we just wanted a place to stay for the night and it suited our needs just fine.
Room cleaning is currently not included. Assume it will be changed over time with the new owners/management. Lodge layout is a bit confusing with stairs up and down to donning room, pool and sport/fitness areas. Building was a bit cold.
It was 56 degrees in our room when we checked in. Sat around in our jackets for a half hour. Obviously room wasnt being used but they would not let us check in until 5:00. Hand lotion dispensers were empty. Disappointing stay.
The view of the lake was right outside our door. Sun rise from the room every morning was beautiful. Super clean room and looks updated. The staff was veery easy to ask question while using text messaging. Made it much easier than walking up to the office as the place is huge.
Great environment, beautiful views and friendly staff. We had a problem with the fireplace, within minutes they had sent someone to fix it. Also the lock on the door into the room was not functioning, again they sent maintenance to fix it within minutes! Other than those couple little things, it was a great time! The room was great and I would recommend this place to many of my friends!
Our room was accessible only by stairs. We were told that not asking for a non-wheelchair accessible room was our fault as well as Expedia’s.
I also had trouble getting my luggage into the building and tripped and fell while I was on the phone with the front desk. 3 other guests (I did not know them) helped me. A security guard came to the area however did not write a report or offer much help. With that, there is not a report of my fall.
My husband did see the room and it was not close to what we were expecting. It was small and very little room to move around the bed. All in all very poor. We ended up leaving and getting a refund.
This resort will not be recommended by us.
All the staff were pleasant. Captain Todd a local treasure, blessed to have had time with him. Music was good. Welcoming atmosphere all around. Enjoyed an evening fire on the beach.

Very very average
This resort is very dated. Smells old. It takes a long time to get from one end of the resort to the other, therefore challenging with little ones.
The morning we were going to check out they began scrapping the surface area around the pool at 7:00 am! Woke up the kids in our poolside room. We had told the kids that they could jump in the pool one more time before we departed, but didn’t realize they were going to be doing construction that morning on it. Would’ve been nice to know. Ended up with some disappointed kids. Mentioned it at checkout but was just told “that’s too bad” and they (reception staff?) weren’t aware of the resurfacing taking place.
Irma’s kitchen is a very nice place to eat. Prices are a bit high.
Resort is not very “accessible” for strollers wagons etc unless you are on the main walkways. Has to carry them up and down several flights of stairs. Some rooms are almost impossible to find, signage is poor in regards to this.
We have come to this area for years and thought we would give this resort a try. It is a bit cheaper, but obvious reasons why.
The indoor pool area’s very nice and as long as this is open, it is worth coming to. If it’s just for the sake of the outdoor pool that you’re coming, then it wouldn’t be worth it.
Wish Craguns much luck in the future but major updates and cleaning need to happen, as well as the other things I mentioned.
For now we will stick with Maddens or Grandview even though they are more expensive it’s worth it
