For the price paid, there are no complaints. But my goodness, this is now a 2-star hotel in a very old 5-star building. But great location, lots of character. The buffet food was basic.

More of a holiday village than a hotel which was great, plenty of things to do. Good pool, great grounds, good bar and restaurant. Great location Only down side was that the lifts were out. Not good in a hotel full of stairs.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel was kept well as a historic building. The bath room was clean and recently refurbished. However, bathtub access need to improve for the safety. It was very slippery and no handle to hold. The location to/from beach was excellent and to/from station was easy by a taxi.

A lovely hotel on the seafront. It is situated a few minutes walk from a sandy beach. There are buses that stop outside the hotel and go to Poole. No immediate parking but there is car park 5 minutes walk away for £6 a day. There are gardens with plenty of seating. There is a pool which is an extra £5 a day but towels are included. Breakfast was extensive but basic. All staff were very friendly. There is entertainment every evening and there is a large comfortable bar area.

Amazing staff and very helpful. The room was super clean and tidy, despite being in the older (so not refurned) part of the hotel. It was worth it for the super sea view! It was a shame that the pool was not in operation, but these things happen. We have stayed here several times, including during the slight freeing up of lockdown, and have many happy memeories of enjoying the beautiful garden. Breakfast was slightly lovely but not of the same standard as previously, although it was delightful to see many of the same staff doing a great job. Thank you - we will be back!

We visited over the May Heatwave, the Hotel is very central to the town centre and beach. We had booked a small double room, but due to the weather conditions they kindly upgraded us & said we would be more comfortable in a more airer room, which was very kind of them. Breakfast was nice, it got quite busy round the breakfast bar, so could have been a little bigger. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again if I go back to Bournemouth.

Excellent location near the beach and pier. The outdoor garden is spacious and lovely on a sunny day. The indoor pool and hot-tub are very nice but a shame that residents have to pay £5/day to use them. The bar, dining room and entertainment rooms are well maintained. Our bedroom was small and definitely needed some refurbishment, but was adequate for a 2 nights stay.

I chose this hotel because I assumed it would be old fashioned and full of character. So it turned out to be. It is very conveniently located. Inside is very comfortable if a little tired in places. The chairs are buttoned leather and the clientele at the time I stayed were in their golden years. Our room was very spacious but oddly shaped. It all added to the charm. Recommended.
