Waiting for the cranes to show up. It was a no show from the flight deck but the skies of New Mexico derivered an amazing sunset.

The Festival of the Cranes happens sometime in November (the weekends change) but you can go anytime between Nov - February to experience the sunrise takeoff. There are so many birds the vibration of their wings feels like bass from a speaker. This is one of the most amazing moments I've had with nature. Be sure to dress warm and in layers - as the day progresses it gets warmer. Bring some coffee or tea to keep you going. There are buses that take you to parts of the park that are not open to the public or, you can walk along the public areas at your leisure.
