"Room was nice! I was just wondering what the smell was, I wondered if it was because the room hasnt been opened in a while. I guess some better room spray would’ve worked, other than that everything was great. We walked to the port and back, walked to the crossings and shops. There was always someone at the desk. We didn’t really use the AC"

"Drove from 4 hours away, only to find out that its ABANDONED! Had to figure out another stay last min which I'm surprised that my family could even find somewhere on such short notice. Only place that was not in business whatsoever, like no lights on, no people anywhere. Even the pool was bone dry which solidified that it wasn't in business. Fortunately got my full refund back(almost didn't) but if its not running for business then why are there still listings that are fully bookable. First time going to Mackinaw City this place really lets my hopes down and we were even debating on just going back home because our ride up was stressful and we were looking forward to checking in and relaxing after a stressful car ride up. But after we were able to get into the Clarion hotel then everything went smoothly after that> So if you're looking for a good place to stay, its definitely not this place, go down the road to the Clarion hotel and book there, they made it so easy and helped with everything we needed help with."

"Room was clean. I had my dog with me, so I appreciated the door leading to the back patio and grassy area. Enjoyed the river view. Prperty is older but well kept. Breakfast options were better than typical continental breakfast including scrambled eggs and biscuits & gravy. Front desk staff was friendly & efficient."

"Upon room assignment we noticed the beds were really firm and uncomfortable: similar to the feeling of a cardboard box if you were to lay on it. We asked for another room and our request was granted although the staff seemed very inconvenienced by our request to switch rooms for another first floor room, our daughter is special needs and can’t do stairs. The desk chair in the room was soaking wet and we were blamed. The breakfast selection is mediocre at best. Housekeeping was not done on our room, even though we had put the housekeeping sign out before we left. The front desk receptionist seemed irritated that I had asked for garbage bags upon our return. We asked for extra towels because it was myself whose hair is down past my butt, my daughter, whose hair is to the middle of her back, my husband and my son, and we were up in Indian River for trail riding for the weekend so we knew we would get extra muddy and need more than one shower for the three days we were there. We were chastise for asking for extra towels and two extra shampoo because my kids forgot theirs, there were no towels in the pool area so we asked for towels to use and the lady at the desk told my husband that we already had requested extra towels and he said yes those were to shower with not for using in the pool and she wanted to know why we couldn’t use them for both. Check out the next morning we were told breakfast is for guests that are staying not for guests that are leaving. We will not return."
