「I admittedly arrived at a busy time and The Bear was reportedly chronically short of staff. Whilst the room and its cleanliness was excellent, the human side was somewhat chaotic. I queued twice for approx. 15 mins in total only to be told, in regard to ordering food, that the chef was very busy and not feeling well. I could not order any food and whilst sickness is unavoidable no decision was made to stop food orders for the evening. That lack of a decision was the problem and frustrating. I...

「Staff were helpful and friendly. Parking was easy. The room was really clean and the decor was quirky and bright. It's a lively night spot (for a little town) so it wasn't the quietest place to sleep, but good value for money.」

「The hotel is in a lovely place facing the sea with areas to walk. A few minutes walk from the railway museum and train rides to a beautiful area. The only thing I was unhappy with was that not all the staff worked as a team at meal times. The rooms, facilities and amenities were all lovely. Staff were approachable.」

「We were allocated a large room on the 3rd floor. There is no lift. We requested a lower floor the room was mor like a bedsit .clean and quiet. .The front of the building is covered in scaffding. If we were in the rooms with hottubs etc different experience.Staff minimal buit helpful.restuarant has always been good.」

「The hostel is cozy, located close to the lake, and within a short drive or a hike from Scafell. The food at the restaurant is fantastic. There is also a kitchen which can be used to cook your own food. The staff are all very friendly.」

「The location and apartment were great! Unfortunately the beds were the most uncomfortable beds we have ever slept in - so lumpy and uneven we couldn't sleep for the 2 nights we were there. The sofa bed mattress was so thin you could feel the metal frame all night. The mattresses all need replacing!」

「Parking space is not enough. We’re lucky that the council parking in the opposite side of the street is free on Saturday night, so we can get a space. Table top, shelf and hook for hanging clothes or bag in the guest room is not enough too. Staffs are so nice and helpful, but the hygiene of restaurants tables and chairs need improvement. 」

「Cannot say as i did not stay due to the manager trowing me out for letting my partner use the toilet the got me charged with drink driving for trying to sleep in my car as did not have anywhere else to go」
