"It’s amazing place to stay for the view and ambience that it offers.
Me and my family stayed in Chalet. Unit has a standing AC and table fan in a room but I think they should provide table fan in other room as well. Overall our stay at Fort Prevel was amazing due to stunning view of the bay. Management should look into having the rooms cleaned properly. Overall stay was enjoyable and units are comfortable. Will recommend it."
"Check in & out process was smooth. Property is right at the centre of market so everything is at walkable distance. Parking was easy. Room was upgraded but bit small. I was travelling solo, so had no issues. Washroom was clean as well."
"We had an enjoyable stay here for 3 nights (in a room facing the parking lot). We found the hotel modern and clean and quiet (except the AC is a bit noisy) , with a very comfortable bed and all amenities. We ate 3 good-value breakfasts at the onsite hotel, Tetu. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were very friendly and helpful, especially with our attempts at French.
The Baker is a short walk (albeit down a short relatively steep hill) to rue de la Reine where we found a couple of fine dining restaurants (Safflower for tapas and Bise Brise for upscale pub food), an organic bulk food store, and an epicerie for great cheeses, charcuterie, and local fine foods and beauty products (they have everything you need for a really nice picnic lunch). There is some although limited parking on and near rue de la Reine for the mobility challenged who might find the hill difficult (note that the Baker does not have an elevator). We had hoped to find a nice store selling local arts but this does not seem to exist in Gaspe'. Another negative was that the water is not easily accessible in Gaspe' especially from the downtown area.
Although Perce' is a 50-minute drive, Gaspe' is a better base. Perce' was too touristy, busy and noisy for us and lacked the character and charm of a small town. We took a tour boat of Perce' Rock and Bonaventure Island and were very glad we did. The sheer number of gannets and other birds on the Island is outstanding.
We'd certainly stay again."
"It was hard to wash the dish and let them dry because there were no space provided. The reception girl didn’t provide coffee for three of us. Maximum 2! Although we paid for three persons. Very unpleasant when you pay lots of more net but you’re treated like that for a few dollars."
