"As soon as I entered the main doors my jaw dropped as I was NOT expecting the hotel to be under renovation(s). Had I known, I would had booked elsewhere.
We stayed in room 605. Just above the pool area. The room had a very heavy smell of chlorine to which I got a headache.
Upon entering the room there was dust in areas and the fridge was dirty.
The toilet seat was stained and there was urine spots under the seat.
The elevators were very dirty with stains on the walls and ceilings.
I understand the hotel is undergoing renovations, but renovations/clean are two different types of work.
There was no wifi included, because I am not a Diamond member and the reservation was not booked directly with the hotel but with Expedia.
I did contact front desk to which I was then given a promo 2026 to enable free wifi. Which hotel in 2026 DOES NOT have free wifi included?
I have never encountered no free
The area getting off the elevator was not very welcoming. There were microwaves on the floor in the hallway and the mirror was dirty.
For a Hampton. I was extremely disappointed.
I would not recommend this location.
I was not even given a receipt nor asked for my email address like most ask/confirm( even through Expedia). I had to call to request my receipt.
Check in was easy and the front desk agent was pleasant and welcoming. I hate to leave bad reviews, but I was quite disappointed with this stay!

"The good: Restructured entryway with beautiful large wooden doors with brass fittings & rings. Opulent main lobby, beautiful dark woodwork, museum like. Beautiful in its day but like a neglected child it’s telling and felt dingy & very dark. (ie a beautiful ceiling light fixture with shades crooked and tattered with a few burned out bulbs)Restaurant/bar on site. Beautiful 4 post king bed, comfortable, very high (I needed to use my suitcase as a step up to get in it but no big deal) Free 24/7 coffee in lobby. Large Superstore and lovely waterfront beach across the 4 lane road.
The bad: sketchy af neighbourhood behind an auto repair shop undergoing some major big digging and perhaps expansion?Directly across from the parking area looked to be an old motel converted into rundown apartments and above three older 3 story apartment buildings.Although free breakfast is advertised the kitchen was “closed this week”, no biggie to me as I typically don’t eat breakfast(maybe call ahead if you do.THE Ubeautiful 4 poster bed with a tattered, ripped, VERY discoloured & torn cheap netting from years of wear & tear wrapped very poorly and differently around each post-it’s dirty, ripped, discoloured from hand oils & dusty-just get rid of it & let the natural wood be beautiful on its own. King size pillow cases on regular pillows, tuck & fold the excess fabric inside not twisted like cellophane, homemade artwork from 50’s got to go, no breakfast kitchen was closed this week?"
"The fireplace was warm and added charm to the space. Everything extremely clean and pleasing to the eye. The kitchen has everything you would need. Staff were very helpful when we had questions."
