「We were made very welcome by the proprietor on our arrival. We were provided with drinks, madeline cakes and a rice desert. 「Unknowingly we were there during the LeMans race week. The gentleman at the desk was a wealth of information about the race and the cars that were parked in the lot. Dinner and breakfast were on site which was very convenient. 」

「It was our first time at the Grand Hotel. We stayed at the hotel on our way to catch the ferry from Caen to the UK. The location is very peaceful next to the Solesmes Abbey. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was of a high quality. Our superior room had a balcony and air con and was spacious. Our little border terrier, Lola, was made very welcome and we found a lovely walk next to the river behind the Abbey. We will definitely come back. 」
