The location of this hotel is close to the train station, restaurants, and the nearby attractions are all within walking distance. The bed is comfortable, breakfast is alright, not great. The bathroom is a little small, elevator is old fashion, it was out of order when we arrived, but they repaired it soon. The staffs are friendly. We were concern about the noise at night because it located among the busy streets but turned out OK.

Older hotel that has been updated and is in a very convenient location with the train station as easy walk or bus ride away. Lots of restaurants in the area as well. Rooms are a little small but fine for a night or two. The fan was a great addition as the heat was still on in Switzerland. Good breakfast buffet too.

We were originally in a room that faced out to a noisy street, but the staff were more than helpful in accommodating us in another quiet room. They were also very helpful in answering the many questions we had as first-time visitors to the lovely city of Bern. The Hotel National is a very old hotel, but the bathroom had been fully updated and the room was lovely. The included breakfast was very nice too — just what we needed to fuel our site seeing adventures!

The location was excellent, walking distance to the old town and train station. Room was clean and cosy. Breafast was very ample. Constantina was running the breakfast room by herself on the first two mornings. She is to be commended on her ability to ensure food was relenished, tables cleared and everything ran like clockwork. Excellent employee. The final morning breakfast room was a bit disorganised different staff member on duty. Overall a pleasant stay and would stay again if visiting city.

Staff were lovely, rooms basic and lift doesn't go all the way to the top floor so if you have heavy bags you need to carry them up the last flight.

Beautiful hotel. We stayed in 301 which was on the street side. With No AC and had to keep the windows open the city tram line is right out front which made it noisy at night. Other than that, hotel was beautiful.
