"Hotel was good, the elevator is definitely a little sketchy as if it hasn’t been looked at for awhile. Room was clean and breakfast was great. No pool or hot tub. For the price great hotel. "

"My bed had a fingernail in it and the bedding was stained so they didn’t switch out the sheets before we arrived. I always do a bed check before sleeping and I was just shocked. Also their breakfast was just toast, cereal, and oatmeal as the main foods so if you want food options I wouldn’t say here is the best bet. The staff were extremely nice but cleanliness was not good at all."

"The hotel was very convenient to all the shops bars and restaurants. Our room was obviously in the oldest part of the building or maybe not the updated part, very dark ,very little lighting the shower had old soap scum build up on the door and in general didn't feel very clean. For the price you pay a night everything should be exceptional not just for the convenience."

"Our river view room was lovely! Staff was ever helpful and I really appreciated the cafe downstairs for a morning coffee and a walk across the bridge. Everything was accessible from where we were in downtown St. Paul. I would love to come back and stay here next time I am in the Twin Cities."

"Short walk to Grand Casino Arena events. Beautiful hotel, valet parking with the valets dressed very classy, and another who opened doors for us. Great experience! "

"Not terrible rooms, and complimentary bottled water was a nice touch. The pool seems to be the only thing they’ve upgraded in a while. Walls are paper thin so if you want to eavesdrop on what you’re neighbors are saying or watching on TV, this is a perfect hotel. Unfortunately for us it was less than idea. Not to mention the bar of soap and shower cap that were left in the bathroom from the prior guests. They cleaned the room a second time but left crumbs on the table so not sure what else they missed. Management offered us free breakfast for our stay which was the buffet from the on site restaurant — it left much to be desired. Needless to say we won’t be staying here again."

"My room was clean. Staff responsive. Breakfast and sundry amenities were better than the marketing shows. The parking lot is next to the building, but it's an open lot—not "secure" as their marketing claims. The marketing photos show the good parts of the hotel, and there are some. But there is more photo glitz than reality. The lake view is interrupted by a shoddy paved area, and the lake itself is unattractive. Don't book a lake view or anything on the first floor, since the window louvers (no curtains) aren't private. The general impression is that this is a budget hotel. OK for a brief stay. "
