They showed the property on the water, but it was a block away from the water. There’s no beaches and there wasn’t much else in the area. The pool was small. The spa was way overpriced was not happy at all.

The whole facility is kept very clean. It has one of the best hotel gyms I've ever seen. The view from my room was great. They did not have enough towels at the front desk if you are going out and need one. Service at the pool was very slow.

Review: I recently stayed at the Fort George while four months pregnant. Upon arrival, I wore a gray two-piece lounge set and requested in advance if the hotel could do my laundry. I was told that laundry typically takes 24 hours but they would try. My laundry was taken the same day, which was appreciated, and I was able to enjoy lunch while my items were being handled. However, the next day, just before my early departure due to a canceled flight, I discovered that my gray pants had been damaged. When I addressed this with staff, they claimed that the damage was pre-existing and that I had arrived at the hotel wearing the pants in that condition. This was not only inaccurate, but also insulting. I offered for them to review footage to confirm that I would never arrive in damaged clothing, but my concerns have not been acknowledged. While the hotel itself was clean and well-maintained, the lack of communication, follow-up, and accountability from staff was extremely disappointing. I have emailed multiple contacts and received no response. Due to this experience, I am requesting a full refund. If necessary, I will consider legal action or escalate via social media.

Fort George Hotel is beautiful and newly renovated. We did not utilize the spa, but it looked very nice. We ate quite often at The Treehouse out of convenience; the restaurant attached to the hotel which we found to be delicious but priced expensively. You might be better off eating locally (we did not realize there was a string of local restaurants close by). We were 2 women staying and it was advised not to walk anywhere after dark, so please use taxi cab services. There is a lot of construction in the surrounding area so there may be more to see, but mostly we would take the water taxi cab from San Pedro Belize Water Express Taxi (7 minute walk from the hotel) over to the other cayes, as there are no swimmable beaches in Belize City. Next time we would stay there however, Fort George is still beautiful and worth the stay. The pool is clean and we had a pool view room. The front desk staff did not necessarily seem happy to be there (but who knows what they have to deal with daily). The exception would be other staff, Jairo and Shanda who were always kind, outgoing and friendly with each interaction. We ordered room service from the Treehouse and they brought it to our room with the biggest smiles and the best service. They were a great representation of Belizeans that are proud of the culture and history. I really appreciate that they did not have to but helped to end our trip to beautiful Belize with a cherry on top! Thank you, Jairo and Shanda.

The Fort George is a beautiful, luxury Boutique Hotel experience in great location within Belize city. Very convenient to the Ferry terminal, fantastic and helpful staff, and phenomenal dining. The gym and Spa are also I must to experience.
