Check in was a nightmare. Phone to speak to off site reception was not answered. Only by going to the bar, que uing up and the 3rd person finally got us in to the hotel area. Terrible way to have to check in. Better communication .... early on .... before booking .... might of helpful. Also levels of cleanliness in the room was below only the higher levels tho. £140 for two adults and NO breakfasts was an insult.

This was a surprising gem of a find. It ticked off all the proper boxes: Clean, quiet and comfortable room. Superb communication with management regarding remote check in, check out, etc. The attached bar offers good food and drinks, and there are also many quirky and tasty places of all kinds within a 5 minute walk left or right. The location is closer to the Uni quarter than downtown, but both are within walkable range. I will definitely stay here again. l

great place, room was clean and had everything you could want. loved the free beer. only thing is i was a bit confused how check in was going to be,, i was waiting to see if i got sent a keycode or something and was worried i had missed something. would be a good idea to explain the process in email

The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Well stocked with tea, coffee etc. The shower room was very spacious and again plenty toiletries and towels. The staff were great, very helpful and friendly. Not a great view but we weren’t expecting one!! Overall a very pleasant stay.

The 1852 was a great place to start our tour of Ireland and definitely our stay in Belfast! Check in was smooth and we appreciated them leaving some beers for welcome and to recognize folks checking themselves in. (Unfortunately there appeared to be some folks that thought they needed all the free beer). We had a hike of the stairs as there isn’t an elevator, but loved the room, hotel, pub and location!

It was in convenient location with easy access to trains, buses, or just walking. I loved that I had the bar/restaurant right underneath and could grab a bite or a drink whenever needed. The room itself was also chic and comfortable. My only criticism is that one of my windows did not lock properly, I think it was broken.

I loved the simplicity of this place while being very comfortable and having everything we needed. The check-in process was very easy and straightforward. We had issues activating our room key cards, but you literally just pick up the phone right there and it connects directly to someone who can help. The check-in beer was a fantastic touch! The hotel is centrally located with everything you could need within walking distance (including a wide variety of food options)! 2 things to keep in mind - there are stairs up to the rooms and there is night life in the area that you will hear at night (not too bad from the top floor). This didn't bother us, but it is something for other guests to consider if they are light sleepers or can't do stairs :)
