As a three star, this was good, we had a lovely room on the top floor, and received a friendly welcome. Really good location in the centre of such a pretty town Bedale.

A nice quiet overnight stay

I found the facilities fine and my room was exceptionally clean and comfortable with more than enough tea, coffee etc., available. The meal I had was good and well presented. It's well situated in the middle of the square with plenty of parking though you are on a time limit but parking is available at the rear of the hotel next door and is available for you to use if you wish it. There is also a quiet beer garden at the back.

Very warm welcome. Comfortable bed, clean room. Good shower. Lovely evening meal in the bar. Tasty breakfast. Convenient stop over on our long journey north. Would book again.

Stayed one night to break our journey to Scotland. Friendly welcome from lovely staff. Bedroom and shower room spotless. Room at the front but had a great night’s sleep as traffic almost non-existent. We ate in the pub - very good and value for money. Tasty breakfast next morning. Will stay again.

Perfect for a stop-over on long journey north

This was our third time staying at The Green Dragon on our way up to Scotland. It’s five minutes from the A1 in a characterful market town. Landlord and staff very friendly and helpful. Room had everything we needed. Bed very comfy and good quality linens. Spacious, well laid out ensuite. We ate in the bar. Good range of beers, lovely home- cooked food which was good value. Breakfast was excellent too. We will be staying again!

Young lady at the bar was very helpful on arrival. No on-site parking so she explained the need to have a parking permit which she supplied and advised how to use it. The bar was a country town bar but the rooms were smart,comfortable and clean. Alternative access was available to residents.

Very friendly welcome and friendly people in the bar. Staff very cheerful and helpful. Very comfortable bed and pleasant room which was the dog friendly one. Maybe a bit noisy before the bar underneath closed but that didn’t bother us at all. Finally, good strong loo paper!

Great little hotel in a beautiful place!

A great stay at the Green Dragon. Lovely pub with rooms in a great area. Room was decent for what I was after although with the hot weather, it did get pretty warm during the night. Very comfortable though, clean and nice decor. The pub had a great selection of food and beers and I took advantage of both of these. Great home cooked food. Service was great from check in, bar staff and also breakfast the following day. Stay coincided with the England v Denmark Football Game and the bar had a few in but still plenty of space and service was very quick. Great atmosphere and lovely bar. Breakfast also great quality in the conservatory and service quick.
