The Federal is definitely a hidden gem. The room and the common spaces are quintessential Maine. My king premier room was complete with a fireplace. The decor was a piece out of Maine history but also stylish enough to be modern.

Clean, classy, and comfortable. Great lobby area to relax by the fire. Complementary coffee. Rooms are large and luxurious.
