Missing air conditioning

We booked a suite, which on the Hotels.com webpage has a picture of a living area and a bedrrom. The room did in fact have a living area without air conditioning and a temperature of averaging 29 degrees C what made this area totally redundant and unusable. In fact we had a bedrrom not a suite. There was no pot or cups in the kitchen to make a simple tea for two. The purpose of our stay in Barranqquilla was to visit Carnival and in this respect the hotel was perfectly located; there were also some great eating options around and three supermarket, a D1 on the very same block.

This has become my go-to when in Barranquilla. The property is well kept and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. After I stayed here a couple of nights, I went ahead and booked 3 more weeks. It is conveniently located to so much within a 15 minute walk. If you're staying longer term in a room with a kitchen, there are 3 markets within a block plus another one 3 blocks away. There are numerous restaurants and local food shops in walking distance. The area seems very safe with a mix of bougie residences as well as everyday homes and businesses. You really couldn't ask for more, especially at their rates. A large number of the rooms have a sitting view of the traffic melee below which has become my daily entertainment.

I DID NOT LIKE THE FACT THAT IT WAS OFFERED AS A STAY FOR 4 ADULTS WHEN IT ONLY HAS 1 BEDROOM. THE SOFA CONVERTED TO A BED BUT IT WAS HARD AS A ROCK. NOT ENOUGH TOILET PAPER FOR OUR 3 NIGHT STAY. WE RAN OUT THE 2ND NIGHT. NO HOT WATER. THERE WAS AN EXTRA FEE FOR ENTRANCE BRACELETS WHICH WAS STUPID AND LASTLY ALL THE COMMUNICATION IS MADE THROUGH WHATSAPP. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. THE APARTMENT IS NOT DESIGNED FOR MORE THAN 2 ADULTS. CLOSE TO THE BEACH BUT NO BEACH TOWELS AVAILABLE. POOL HOURS TILL 5PM AND CLOSED ON MONDAYS. MANY STAIRCASES TO GET TO ELEVATOR. NO INSTRUCTIONS OF HOW TO USE THE WASHER MACHINE. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

The Hotel Torre del Prado is in a safe and tranquil neighborhood in Barranquilla. Upon arrival, I was told that the reservation was for just 1 person. I said that why would I have asked for a room with twin beds if I was traveling alone. I have been using Orbitz for many years and this is the first time this has ever happened. I had to pay an additional charge for my partner to have breakfast as according to the reception desk the reservation was just for one person. At check out we were charged for three towels: a body towel, a hand towel, and a shower mat. The receptionist added these charges and said that the towels were unable to be cleaned. Again, and I have been travelling for over 50 years, this is the first time I have ever had to pay for dirty towels. Finally, the hotel Torre del Prado advertises itself as having a refrigerator, stove, and small dining area. This is indeed true. However, there is absolutely nothing in the cupboards. No plates, glasses, utensils, pots and pans, nor coffee cups. Needless to say, both my partner and I were very disappointed with the Hotel Torre del Prado. While the staff are pleasant and the location is good I would not recommend this hotel. Also, the breakfast was meager and the same every day. A much better breakfast can be had at the restaurants in the area and for half the cost of what is charged.

Cleaning ladies stole from my girl. Not just a little bit but thousands of dollars. Nothing worked in the suite(which should not be advertised as a suite) no tv, no air conditioning, no plates, cups, cutlery in kitchen, no pots pans. Rude staff, made out of towners feel uncomfortable and unsafe. Stay far away from this place.

Es hermoso y muy comodo Limpio, amplio, el desayuno es muy rico y completo. Aunque son habitaciones con cocina no hay platos, cubiernos ni ollas. Ibamos dos mujeres con muchos paquetes, maletas y un bebe en coche, y como 3 muchachoa en recepcion y poca iniciativa para ayudar. A la salida ni se ofrecieron a ayudarnos a sacar las cosas para subirnos al taxi. Pedimos una ollita prestada para hacerle una papilla a la bebe, y nos dijeron que no, que las ollas son para los de estancias largas.
