Pulling in to Wonderview Inn, I found signs redirecting me to the larger property next door. The front desk staff was ok. She checked me in and handed me a map which bore little resemblance to the property in order to direct me to drive across the very large property to my room. There are multiple very poorly labeled buildings and only after 30 minutes of driving around did I find my nearly hidden room. The room is nice enough. Wifi good. Clean. Quiet. On the edge of the property mostly hidden. Reminds me of a place I stayed that put Expedia clients in the most remote least renovated room. In short, you can do better in Bar Harbor.

This is an old property. Upon opening the door to the foyer where our room was located, there was a strong moldy smell. Thankfully, it did not extend to the room itself. The building was very unattractive. There is no place in the bathroom to put your toiletries except for a narrow shelf-my toothbrush was knocked off-not much room there. The sink is a single on a stand. You have to hike or drive a very skinny road to get to the office where they have coffee and tea. There is a Keurig, but the coffee provided wasn’t good and we needed cream for the coffee and tea. The AC was a high unit directed by a remote without instructions, but we thought it might have heat also-it did not. The heat comes from a small electric fireplace. It did a good job, but actually a little too good as I had to awaken at midnight to turn down the heat. The bed headboard banged the wall when turning over. I’ve never paid so much for so little. We chose to do so for the location but it wasn’t as close to town as we expected and we still had to drive in and pay for parking. There was no view from our room or anywhere we saw on the property, perhaps from the restaurant? It was clean though and relatively quiet and we were able to sleep well.

The hotel property was nice - the Bluenose Inn area. Our room was dated and needed to be freshened up for the cost of the room. The staff at the Looking Glass dining was not very friendly. Food was fine, just not welcoming.

Wonderview as a name is a misnomer. This is a good old fashioned motel from the 50's that is in decent condition. The view from the balcony is of overgrown trees. To be fair, nothing stands out as bad but there is nothing to get excited about either. We stayed two nights and had no problems but if you are in any way having difficulty walking on unlevel terrain this is not the place for you. Advice we would have liked to have is this property has been taken over by the adjoining "Bluenose" hotel and everything is ran from there so avoid the meandering long and winding drive through the Wonderview property and just drive up the short driveway to the Bluenose to check in. Just don't draw any conclusions about the Wonderview until you actually get there.

One laundry facility for 6 multi-floor hotel buildings? Air conditioning okay but noisy. Towels for hot tub only available at front desk -the farthest building from our room.

The bathroom had mold in it and no exhaust fan There was a smear of something on the bathroom door. There was also an old adjourning door to the next room which let sound through and you could hear everything from the room over. Also no curtains so no sleeping in past 7 because it's way to bright with all the windows.

There was no view of the harbor at my time of stay from the window. I could only see the trees. Had to travel to another hotel for coffee which was a small cup and cold.

Location was good! Walls to thin, people on balcony next door sounded like they were in the room with you and the doors when they shut sounds like your slamming doors. Not good when you have plans for an early morning.

Excellent location between village center and National Park entrance. Motel exterior is "vintage" from the 60's (or so) but our room was fine inside. Be sure to confirm that your room has the "wonder view." Ours and many other rooms have a view of trees that block what used to be a wonderful view. Other rooms do have a magnificent view of the water and islands, as does the onsite restaurant.

The Livingston building makes you feel like an outcast. It is too far from any amenities. It has a space heater for heat. The walk to any amenities is unlit. The room is cheaply decorated and has lament flooring. I doubt a photo of this room will be seen in any advertisement.

Location location location. This spot was ideal for riding the carriage trails via bike and exploring Acadia. The room was huge but the bathroom was so small you couldn’t use the toilet without shutting the door first. Balcony view was spectacular. Amenities listed are not quite convenient such as deck is only by request and maybe they come to open and sometimes not. The indoor pool is nice but no changing area as from our room, a long walk in a wet suit. Overall a great stay, just not exactly as expected for the cost. The front desk was super helpful.
