Great old style hotel, comfortable and convenient. I have stayed at the Emerald Hotel 4 times, it used to be excellent but I guess the management is different now. I primarily come to Bangkok for dental work, and BIDC is virtually 2 blocks up the road, and a huge mall a little walk up the road. Public trains city transport is 1/4 mile walk from the hotel.

I found cockroaches twice in the salad at the breakfast buffet. I had paid for a deluxe room - I was transferred to a standard room because of hot water problems. I found the rooms unattractive and in need of renovations. The shower areas were gritty. I will not stay at the Emerald Hotel again M.S.

Everything good except that the ceramic washbasin is not clean. There are some rotten spots that cannot be cleaned with ordinary soap but can be with some acidic cleaner. But notbody do it and has been left unclean.

Emerald håller fortfarande stilen uppe

Emerald som är ca 30 år gammalt håller fortfarande stilen. Vi hade ett superior rum på 22 vån, stort rymligt med bra säng och en fin utsikt över staden. Vi bodde här i fyra nätter. Frukosten bestod av en buffé samt en "äggstation" där du kunde beställa. Vi som européer var nöjda med utbudet av frukosten. Swimmingpoolen på 15 våningen var uppskattad från oss. Hotellet ligger i ett område som är väldigt aktivt på kvällen. Många thai restauranger och fiskrestauranger som vänder sig till thailändare. Vi åt på flera, billigt och gott. Även många marknadsstånd. Ett välbesökt tempel ligger mellan tunnelbaneuppgångarna. Har man inte sett alla dessa ritualer så rekommenderar jag ett besök där. MTR station Huai Kwang ligger på gångavstånd, uppgång nr 3, är närmast hotellet. Vi åt i hotellets restaurang vid två tillfällen. Vi andra tillfället beställde jag in en biff som tyvärr var väldigt senig och seg. Påtalade detta och fick möjlighet att få en ny. Jag valde istället en fläskkotlett eftersom det köttet är mindre senigt. Jag fick en tjock mycket torr fläskkotlett. Påtalade igen att denna köttbit inte höll måttet. Då blev svaret "sorry sorry". Vi åt inte mer på restaurangen, vet inte om det var otur 2 gånger eller om kvalitén varierar?

バスタブに2mmくらいの虫の死骸が20個以上あって、驚いた。しばらく使っていなかった部屋と思われる。２泊したが、翌日には清掃されていた。また、部屋の照明が少なく、特にベッド回りには照明がない。なお、このホテルには新館と旧館があり、宿泊したのは新館。

Ich bin immer wieder mal in diesem Hotel. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist sehr gut. Die Möbel teilweise abgewohnt was mich in Südostasien überhaupt nicht stört. Bett angenehm hart. Ich liebe es.
