I recently stayed at the hotel as part of my business trip and I must say that I was quite disappointed with my experience. Firstly, the room facilities were pretty outdated. My shower had a leakage issue, dripping cold water on my head all the way through my shower. In addition to the room issues, as I was traveling between cities, I had to check-in and check-out of the hotel three times during this trip. A lady in a green gown named Noriko helped me with my check-in this time. Actually she was the only one that was actually helpful and showed great hospitality of all the encounters I made with their receptionists. As for the rest of the reception staff, I have to say, they are extremely unhelpful and lacking any kind of hospitality. One could even roll their eyes towards me when I asked for some information politely. Their attitude was far below what one would expect of a Thai or Shangri-La hotel. The reception staff showed no willingness to assist and their lack of smiles and warmth was quite off-putting.

Anticipating an Excellent Stay the Next Time
A very nice stay for my birthday trip. The Hotel provided a birthday cake on our arrival and upgraded us to have Lounge Access. Our rooms in the Shangrila Wing are spacious and comfortable and have good views of the Choa Praya. The rooms are value for money. The only reason that only 4 star is given for the overall experience is that facilities are yet to be in full operation when more tourists returning.

I can understand covid time is difficult for everybody. So the service and foods variety much lesser compare before. Before we have fresh fruits complimentary every day in each room. We have nothing this time, also we have to check in in lobby even we are gold circle member. Carpet not too clean as I got dust allergy which gave me a rash.

River view bedroom Is nice but the king size bed is so small. Swimming pool is good, restaurant is good, Food is good, staffs are nice and helpful. The BTS station is near new wing. We living in old wing is quite far away from BTS station. A small shopping mall nearby.

OK, we though a great weekend away and enjoy the Shangrila experience...What a letdown!! We arrived and were told we are staying in the Krugthep Wing - it might well have been another hotel. 900m walk to and from the hotel, thru crappy old function room areas. NO ATMOSPHERE, no enjoying the ambience. What a waste. So disappointing. The hotel is OLD and rundown, whilst the staff we wonderful, with so many other great hotels to stay - SHAME on you Shangrila. Look around for better options and ALWAY check that they arent dumping you at the Krugthep Wing.its like staying in a cast empty nothing hotel.

Not only is the hotel, a beautiful property, but it’s staff is friendly and very professional. The restaurants are awesome and I mean all of them, including the overlooked Tuscan restaurant, boasting incredible meat and pasta, specialties paired with a great selection of wines.
