"The Whateley Hotel was extremely likeable, with just a few areas where it needs tidying ie re decoration touch up in bedroom and corridors, however workmen were seen painting etc. The bathroom was great with up to date white goods, broken sink plug chain though let it down, however extremely clean. The double bed was large and very comfortable. Good selection of tea, coffee and biscuits in room. Lovely view of garden from room 50, well kept garden. We enjoyed a nice meal in the Berkley Restaurant, friendly attentive staff. A very good buffet breakfast, ample choices, the pastries were very hard though. All staff in the hotel were friendly and accommodating. All in all a pleasant and enjoyable stay, and excellent value for money and would definitely stay again."

"Excellent hotel, great room. Close to shopping centre and food options. Only downside is there was an ice dispenser outside of our family room which when used was extremely loud. Not a great location seeing as a family room usually means children or infants sleeping so the ice dispenser wakes everyone up. Perhaps move it to near the lifts?"

"All first class except breakfast. All ingredients good but cooking and preperation third rate for such a great place sorry but it’s true . It’s a real shame"

"Whilst we don’t get to visit as often as we’d like, we’d never stay anywhere else in Oxford. Always spotlessly clean, comfy beds and cosy rooms, can’t fault the staff whether it be reception, concierge or bar staff, this is just a really lovely hotel with good old fashioned values and customer service. "

"Charming, clean, modern hotel in the heart of Oxford. Fun update of an old department store. Staff were so friendly. Desk clerk sat with us at check in for five minutes to discuss his favorite places in Oxford. Would definitely stay again! Also has a great bar. "
