mountain setting, especially when the area is covered in snow. It is tucked away but still right off the freeway, making it easy to access while still feeling surrounded by the mountains. The views are definitely one of the highlights of staying here. The lodge has more of a rustic, old school cabin feel rather than a modern hotel experience. They use traditional keys instead of key cards, there is no 24 hour on site staff, and there is no room service. If you are expecting full hotel amenities or frequent attention, this may not be the right fit. The fireplace in our room was not working, and the interior decor is dated, but clean. The room does include a space to cook, which is convenient. Television options were very limited, and DIRECTV service was hit or miss in the mountains. Any additional channels require extra payment. When I did see staff, they were friendly and polite, but interaction was minimal overall. This place is better suited for guests who are comfortable being mostly self sufficient and are more focused on the location and scenery than amenities. Overall, it is a solid three star stay. The biggest draw is the mountain setting, the cabin style atmosphere, and the peaceful surroundings. If you are looking for a quiet place with great views and do not need many services, this lodge can be a good option.

The room was in good condition. The beds were very comfortable and it had the homey feel that most hotels don't. One slight issue was that we had no toilet paper anywhere in our room. We were instructed to walk down to another empty room to get some. It was only around 7:30 p.m. when we checked in and the office was already closed. Additionally, their dog friendly rooms are located on the 2nd floor. With some tricky snowy steps to navigate, it isn't ideal. Dog friendly rooms are always on the 1st floor for a variety of reasons, and extra steps on the floor above someone else is probably annoying. Overall though, it got the job done for a simple overight stay. Highly recommend the Chinese place just up the road for dinner.

We stayed at the Bailey Lodge in late-Nov./early-Dec. to celebrate our anniversary and it was such a lovely experience! It was close to local attractions (the Sasquatch museum was so fun and we LOVED Aspen Peak Cellars) which made our lives incredibly easy. The room was clean, but quite cold, especially the bathroom—thankfully, our room had an additional bedroom with lots of extra blankets, which came in handy. I wish the fireplace worked, but can’t win them all. The service was great! Check in/out was super easy and pleasant—as we checked out, the proprietor even gave us a complementary bottle of wine to celebrate our anniversary. Not sure when we’ll be back in Bailey, but we’ll definitely stay at the lodge again!

The check in process wasn't clear to me. No one was in the office which was fine. I wish I had known that it would be a self check-in ahead of time. There was a board by the office that had the room numbers. For the room we reserved, there was someone else's name posted. So we were confused. After a self check in, we found that the room's fireplace wasn't working and next to the only other room that was occupied. Since there seems to be other rooms available, we would have loved the room with a working fireplace. The room was clean and the property was charming. The art in the room was surreal and disturbing; didn't go with the vibe of the place to be honest.
