Good value game lodge

Great lodge and easy driving from Gauteng. Rooms (tents) are amazing. Service friendly and good. The all inclusive is great but limited, but you can buy other drinks if you like.

We liked our stay at the game reserve, our unit overlooked the river which was very relaxing, we only went on 1 game drive due to not seeing any Elephants or Lions which was disappointing and the Buffalo where very far away, the vehicle for the game drive was very old and difficult to get in and out as I have had 2 hip replacements.

Very nice lodge but partly disappointing

Very nice lodge with the best „tents“ on our trip. Great staff at the restaurant, helpful front-office manager ( not the one that arrived later). Security issues and no reaction by the management/ on a written feedback. That concerns most and does not promise a learning. Were also the last comfortable game drives (just talking here about the car and roads maintenance) „private pool“ was 1x1 m.

Very Enjoyable Experience

Really enjoyed my first ever safari at the Nkomazi Game Reserve, the tents were spacious and comfortable, the food at the lodge was fantastic and the staff were super friendly. I was very lucky to be guided by Vicky on all of my game drives where we saw lots of animals while driving through some incredible scenery around the reserve, I liked the fact there was no guarantee on the game drives that we would see animals and that we had to actually go and find them - added to the sense of seeing these animals in their natural habitat Would definitely recommend the Nkomazi Game Reserve, if you come here you’ll more than likely see most of the animals you want to see but may not see lots of them, but the experience of trying to find these animals is great and the time you can spend with any animals you find is makes each sighting really worth it.

Nkomazi is such a beautiful and unique place with luxury beds and amenities to relax. We got into the rhythm of waking up early for a drive, relaxing and napping during the day, then going back out for the evening drive. The staff was very welcoming and always there to greet you with a hot towel and juice or a drink when returning to the camp. Our ranger was very knowledgeable and fun to go out with each day. You have the same guide for your entire stay so each drive builds upon the last and we got to see and learn so much about the wildlife at the reserve. The place is so beautiful, it is so much more than just ticking off the “big five” from your list. Remember it is not a zoo, so don’t go expecting to be presented with each animal quickly. You take your time and look for animals in a much more natural environment and feel the anticipation and luck of when you find something. During our five night stay we viewed cheetahs, a leopard, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, ostrich, warthogs, waterbuck, impala, and so much more! We look forward to making a return visit in the future!

Service is very, very good. The facility and the amenities are all well thought out. There are not as many animals in the reserve as there are in a national park, but we were lucky and saw many, many animals. It is possible, however, to go days here without seeing lions or elephants.

Alleen de rit vanaf de gate naar de lodge is al een ervaring. Nkomazi is de enige lodge op de 15000 hectare grond en de luxe tenten liggen aan een mooie rivier. Service is uitstekend, van ontbijt tot diner en de tenten beschikken over alle comfort. Gamedrives van 3u in de late middag en de vroege ochtend. Kortom: geweldig!

Luxurious "glamping" on a beautiful reserve

Lovely property with very comfortable luxury tents. The staff could not have done a better job making us feel at home and helping us experience the wildlife and gorgeous terrain. Food was delicious and very nicely presented. The game drives were a delight-something different at every turn and the knowledge and enthusiasm of the guides was inspiring. Thanks to all for making our stay so very special.

Esperienca da sogno

Unica lodge nel parco!! Tende da sogno africano con vista del bush. Ognuna ha la sua privacy. Game drive in 4 o 6 persone, molto personale, con mini picnic. Niente zanzare. Peró per essere fine estate (febbraio) era freschino. Mangiare curato, la colazione é più o meno solo a base di uova, ma sì è anche nel mezzo del bush, non si puó pretendere pane fresco e salame.

Die gamedrives waren toll, in einem Wagen nicht mehr als 6 Personen. Die Zelte liegen traumhaft an einem Fluss. Essen auch gut, abends candlelight Dinner.

Relaxing retreat with amazing views

This place is amazing, the views, game drives and hospitality is second to none. The rooms are large, secluded and luxurious with nice little touches like chocolate on your pillows. Enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave!

Tolle Lodge in schöner Lage

Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und hatten eine schöne Zeit im Nkomazi Game Reserve. Die Safaris waren außergewöhnlich schön mit einem tollen Ranger (Thank you Celebrate). Die Unterkunft toll, das Essen exzellent. Wir kommen sicherlich wieder.

Beyond Words

The place is fabulous, and the ranger named " Celebrate" was very knowledgable in tracking the animals and sharing information that made the safari outings beyond words. ( Cheetah was seen on the hunt, lions preparing to hunt, 2 month old baby elephant nursing were highlights) The giraffe were always out and with some special driving a family of hippos playing in the water. The food at all meals and special snacks at the evening sundowner was excellent. Be prepared it was very hot. I also enjoyed a wonderful butter massage that was excellent during the mid day break. Do not miss the star gazing evening to see the stars of the Southern Hemisphere, which included a telescope view of Mars with three moons. In the early am a view of the river and morning Venus next to the moon in the sky. The 5 AM safari's were the best of the best. You must go here! Thank You for the memories.

Sehr gute Game Drives

Sehr schönes Reservat. Die Game Drives mit Tertius waren sehr gut. Tolle Erlebnisse mit den Löwen. Mit Tertius unternahmen wir auch eine spannende Wanderung, bei der wir den Giraffen ganz nahe kamen. Sehr schöne, gut ausgestattete Zelte. (Abend-)Essen könnte besser sein. Freundlichkeit des Personals wirkt mitunter aufgesetzt - und ist auch nicht immer vorhanden. Alkoholische Getränke nicht inklusive. WLAN funktioniert im Grunde nicht.
