"The inn is an easy, beautiful 25-minute drive away from the North Rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. The proprietors, Nathan and Lara, are very friendly and provided plenty of useful information and recommendations for things to do. The property is beautifully restored and landscaped--attractive and cozy, with everything I needed, including microwave, frig, and dishes, along with a good quality flat screen tv, dvds, and streaming. There's a restaurant across the street and an especially good coffee shop a block away. The town is small but charming and is surrounded by pretty landscapes (check out Needle Rock). I highly recommend this place!"
"Talk about a home away from home! This little studio apartment was the perfect spot for our trip. I needed a place to work remotely for the mornings so I could unplug in the afternoon. Wi-Fi speed was great and uninterrupted for my many Teams calls. There was a desk and chair that I was able to move away from the bedroom area so that I could work without interrupting my partner’s ability to sleep in a little.
The bed and couch were super comfy! Honestly we both said we could imagine falling asleep on the couch, just so soft and comfortable.
There was a full fridge, a microwave, sink for dishes, and plenty of storage in the kitchen.
TV came with Roku so we could login to our own streaming apps easily.
Kyle was extremely responsive and a great host, even when we ran into a couple of maintenance concerns. He came right down and got them fixed in no time, and we felt very well taken care of.
Nice water pressure in the shower and the bathroom was stocked with essentials.
We had plenty of parking and privacy, and location just outside of town was perfect for our family visit.
Super cute area, great value for the cost, and gorgeous views of the mesa! "
"We had a great stay. We arrived late, after dinner hours, but they still served us food, which was really helpful. Food was delicious that my kids enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly, and we felt welcome. The location is perfect too—Grand Mesa National Forest is so close, and our fall drive there was beautiful."
"The Lodge is not for everyone as it has the quirkiness of anything that is old. Floors are uneven, doors don't always fit, lighting is terrible for reading, ( bring your own reading light ) there is no AC or an elevator, yet we love this place and return once a year. Surprisingly, since there are only two places to eat in the village, a pizza place and the Lodge, one would guess that the Lodge could get away with mediocre food, but that is not the case. I had wild mushroom stuffed ravioli, my husband had the chicken alfredo and both were amazing!
There are only a few untouched by mega money small towns or villages left to be found in Colorado. This is one of them. Sit by the Crystal River and enjoy the view up or down the valley and the gorgeous Chair Mountain. Although there are no good hikes right out of the village, there are many up and down the valley. Our favorite is Avalanche Creek with all its ferns. Down the valley there are hot springs and up the valley there is the fascinating town of Marble where marble for the Lincoln Memorial and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was mined. Go on over McClure Pass and marvel at the expansive view of aspen covered mountains. The Redstone Lodge is the perfect base camp to see and appreciate the beauty of nature, learn history and restore your soul with peacefulness."
"The rooms are simple yet clean and nice. The price is okay. It's clean, and I enjoyed the hot tub tonight, although it could have been a little hotter. The pool area is also well-maintained. I would stay here again. "
