My stay was great and the hotel was beautiful. The staff were all very helpful and welcoming. I utilized all of the amenities and really enjoyed being able to walk around downtown and to the running trail so easily. I’d definitely return!

Great overall stay, but parking is $70 for the night I wish they add that into the room fee. We got back at 3am to our hotel room smelling like piss and we’re so exhausted from the show we couldn’t do anything about it— the bathroom light was having an electrical problem kept turning on and dimming like a strobe light but not as fast. The bed was so comfy and the staff were amazing. I enjoyed the shower pressure. The coffee maker in the room is extremely confusing. (User error I guess) However the cafe downstairs is AMAZING. Pool is fantastic. 8.5/10!

Absolutely perfect stay at the Tommie. It was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Location is convenient to downtown and walkable to South Congress and other surrounding areas. I highly recommend going to the Austin visitor center a block away to get your bearings and take the city tour, that helped me decide what I wanted to do next and where everything is. I was able to also visit the capital building through the tour. The Tommie hotel has a great coffee shop and diner for breakfast (a little pricey but convenient). The staff is friendly and again, the bed!!! The room size was fine, I was solo so it was large enough for me and my belongings. I stayed 3 nights and wish I had more time to check out the city but I highly recommend the city tour, the trail along the “lake”, the velveeta club for comedy, and south congress shopping. I went to terry blacks for bbq which was amazing but an insane $42! Easily shareable but I was solo. Austin is a fun city with plenty to do.

We had a nice time in Austin staying at the Tommie Austin. The staff were the best, everyone was friendly and helpful in all areas of the hotel. We loved the multiple dining options in the hotel for a quick bite or drink. Very walkable location. The layout of the room was odd. It was spacious enough but the toilet and shower were in one area and sink in another. The shower also had no curtain or door, just a short wall that didn’t do well in keeping water in. There was minimal counter space and no hooks to use for toiletry bags. The overall room seemed like it was cleaned only on the surface level with small things clearly not well cleaned (shower walls, bathroom counter, the base of the bed frame). One thing to note about Austin in general but particularly the block next to the hotel is the heavy amount of homeless people. We realized quickly which blocks to avoid when walking nearby.

Warning to anyone considering this hotel. Be prepared on how tiny the room is. I initially booked an “accessible room” on Expedia. But they switched me to a regular room bc I didn’t need accessibility and told me there was nothing bigger. They were very accommodating to check me in early. (The first star) The room layout leaves much to be desired. There is no proper bathroom and the sink is right by the bed. If you just showered n need to use the toilet after within the hour; be careful not to slip If I had known the room was like set up like a cell, I would have picked another hotel in the area. There was no tea-making in the room. Only a nespresso machine w 2 pods and some sugar. I requested for tea and got a few tea bags and a kettle promptly. The second night I requested for green tea. A gentlemen gave me 2 OPEN tea bags by transferring them directly from his warm sweaty hands into mine. On top of that, they were not green tea. How is this ok?? It was rather noisy outside consistent with other reviews. What was not an expected experience was hvac will randomly blow air that smells like food from the kitchen even at 10pm at night. The body lotion stinks. Please consider offering a less pungent option. The staff is generally professional and friendly. The decor and ambience presents a very warm and inviting experience. The second star I’m giving is for the comfy bed. I wanted to love Tommie Austin but alas it was not meant to be.
