It was remodeled, clean as the pictures showed, and they let me see a room before checking in. They may need to put a sound barrier between the rooms, due to I could hear the guest on either side of me like they were inside my room, and get a 24-hour emergency person in case some gets locked out or loses their room key. But other than that, no complaints!

Had a renovated room with kitchenette, very decent. Clean room, but an insect problem (roaches). I seen 3 babies in bathroom area and a bigger one by bed frame. Better seals on the front door would help tremendously. A/c worked great! Loved the Roku tv setup. Will stay again with a can a raid.

I arrived and the office was closed, the parking lot was full of sketie people, loud music and kids running around at 10 PM. It was so scary that I wouldn't get out of my vehicle without my security peice on my waste.

To begin with, I was unaware that I was booking a stay at the former Efficiency Lodge. Had I known that, I would never have reserved a room at this location. In fact, I mentioned my concern to the front desk associate upon check-in, and she assured me that new management had significantly improved the property, including cleaning it up and remodeling the rooms. Based on her assurances, I proceeded with my stay. When I entered the room, it appeared decent enough. However, the real problem began when I laid down to rest for the night. Almost immediately, my right arm near the elbow began to itch. At first, I didn't think much of it, but the irritation quickly intensified. Shortly afterward, I felt another itch on my upper right shoulder. At that point, I jumped out of bed to see what was happening and discovered that I had been bitten by some type of insect. Based on the circumstances, I can only conclude that the bites were caused by bed bugs or a similar pest. I immediately attempted to contact the front desk, only to discover that no one was available either on-site or by phone. As a last resort, I contacted Expedia in an effort to obtain an immediate resolution. Southern Inn is refusing to take responsibility for the significant inconvenience this situation caused. Management has stated that they will only consider reimbursement after an exterminator inspects the room and confirms the presence of bugs even dismissing my photos. I cannot recommend this place to anyone.
