Wonderful stay at Shelmalier Hotel. Warm welcome when I arrived late at night. Room was perfect, comfortable, quiet area ensuring a good night's sleep. Breakfast could not have better, cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend this accommodation.

First night in Ireland

Traditional B&B which is exactly what we wanted after driving across from Dublin Airport late. Room was spacious and comfortable. Staffing excellent. Breakfast excellent. Parking excellent. Long walk to town to find somewhere for dinner but after the long drive it was welcome. After the big meal it was equally welcome. At the time we stayed there were considerable traffic disruptions in the town so driving was not an option but normally would be.

Friendly hosts and wonderful breakfasts!

Good choices at breakfast, i had full Irish every day with 2 eggs! Home made breads and drop scones daily and home made marmalade and jam. Friendly and knowledgeable hosts who would do anything for you. Would certainly recommend to other travellers.

A perfect stay in Athlone

Very comfortable stay. Fantastic breakfast. Close to bus stop to airport. Very quiet neighborhood. Beautiful setting. Would definitely stay there again on my next Athlone stay.

They were very welcoming and helped out with great directions to my other business destination . Everything was excellent, food, room ,etc and breakfast delightful .Aattention to detail ,comfort and general friendliness was excellent .i would heartily recommend the Shelmalier to stay for several nights .

Fantastic 5 nights at Shelmalier House

Fantastic property. It was my first time staying in a Bed and Breakfast and it was a great experience. The rooms were comfortable. The beds were perfect and the breakfast was fabulous. The owners do a great job making you feel right at home. I would definitely stay there again on my hext trip to Athlone

The hosts were so accommodating to me. After confusing my flight landing time, I couldn’t arrive until 9:30pm of which they were more than happy to accommodate for me. Both the hosts are lovely people & all the home cooked food & jams were amazing. Definitely recommend this place.

Perfetto! c'era tutto e anche di più. Bagno in camera enorme. Colazione con menù, super abbondante e buonissima! gentili ed ospitali i proprietari. Davvero un'ottima scelta. Athlone è un bel paesino e ci sono diversi posti interessanti per la cena.

Just what we wanted for one night.

It was perfect for the one night we needed to stay. It was a stop for us on the way to the airport in Dublin. We had traveled for a couple hours and wanted a place for the night close to the highway. Very spacious room, quiet area and quiet room, comfy accommodations. We had to leave early in the morning so we missed the breakfast but our host had given us a coffee press so my husband could make his own coffee in the room and she left us two bananas, one orange and two yogurts for us to eat before we left. The B and B was near to town so we were able to have a nice dinner that evening we arrived.

Great all around!

Lovely breakfast, relaxed atmosphere,very comfortable surroundings and everything about the stay from start to finish was very straightforward with no hassle at all! Definitely worth a visit!
