Rydges Esplanade Resort Cairns

"Spacious room, but some maintenance and noise issues The room was very spacious, which was a definite plus, and there was plenty of room to move around. Unfortunately, the bed was too soft for our preference, and although there were two pillow options, both pillows felt quite old and could use replacing. The balcony door in our room was also broken and could not be fully closed, which was disappointing and made it difficult to block out the outside noise. Soundproofing was another issue. We could clearly hear people upstairs using the bathroom during the middle of the night, as well as cars and motorcycles from the street. This made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. Overall, the large room was a positive, but the bed, old pillows, broken balcony door and poor soundproofing affected our stay. Some maintenance and improvements to the rooms would make a big difference."

"Excellent room with a beautiful view, great location to walk everywhere. The only issue which was constant that the wifi was not working properly in our room, we constantly were kicked off of it and no fix was offered, even though I identified this issue right away, it’s a shame as otherwise this is a perfect hotel."

"Limited parking in exposed front park lot, otherwise it was street parking. One lift operating which took a while during peak time close to checkout. Bit of construction work going on. Otherwise spacious great room (just unfortunate that there is a small step into the bathroom which is a toe catcher, and shower glass doesn’t cover enough whereby the floor outside gets very wet)."

"Great location. Dated but functional , large clean ,rooms. No block out blinds so room is very lit up from carpark lighting at night and early morning sun through the plantation shutters common to this area. If you need darkness to sleep , bring a mask If you want fresh air ,have to jam the front door open as not opening front windows. ( room has excellent ceiling fan and good A/c )"
