Very old fashioned hotel but with a lot of history. Amazingly comfortable beds. Great food in the restaurant and friendly staff. Nice pool area. A little bit of history in Asuncion

Great hotel

We loved this hotel. Beautiful, wonderful outdoor areas, great pool, tennis courts, playground and the gym was pretty good. Breakfast and food services were also really good. We had a great time staying at the hotel. The location was also very convenient

This hotel should be a destination on its own, it’s an oasis of peace and tranquility in the city. Beautiful colonial building, fantastic room, lush green gardens and lovely facilities. Absolutely loved it.

Een prachtig authentiek hotel uit 1921, met groot zwembad en prima service. Onze kamer (3) was gehorig, zowel de slaapkamer als de douche. Het hotel adement historie uit. De tuin heeft veel bijzondere bomen en planten. Er worden veel fotoreportages gemaakt. Goed voor kort verblijf. Wij vonden het bed wat aan de harde kant, maar dat is persoonlijk.

4 dagars vistelse april 2025. Hotellet ligger bra, ta taxi till Mariscal galleria. De hade barbecuebuffé (med livemusik; harpa och dragspel) på söndagslunchen till ett väldigt bra pris. En väldigt bra restaurang (serverar frukost, lunch och middag) med bra priser på hotellet. Det första hotell jag bott på i Asuncion som vet hur man steker bacon. Jag gillade deras utbud till alla måltider. De har även billiga drinkar och goda efterrätter. Det är ett ställe där många firar födelsedag eller har bröllopsfest. Rummet är i bra skick. Jag saknade ett värdeskåp där jag kunde låsa in min dator, så jag tog med mig den istället. De har både pool och tennisbana. Stor utomhusparkering, vilket jag gillade då jag kunde ställa min van där utan att tänka på höjden. Hotellets personal var snäll och hjälpsam med lite olika saker jag behövde utanför det normala. Jag kan absolut tänka mig att bo här igen. Väktare fanns ständigt på parkeringen, så det kändes väldigt tryggt.

I took the advice of a fellow reviewer and eschewed staying in a modern hotel to enjoy a classic hotel. I arrived at night when a party was underway and was impressed with the setting. My room, however, was tiny and the air conditioner was unable to go below 82 degrees--an improvement on 100 outside, but a joke. I was freaked out about mosquitoes as I really don't want to get malaria or some other tropical disease and had to use my fly swatter to kill one shortly after settling down in my room. The bed was terrible--small and hard. In the morning, I took a walk around the property and was impressed to see the parrots in an aviary, but the pool was the most uninviting I have seen since Madagascar. The internet proved to be useless during the day and there does not seem to be any coverage in the public spaces. Despite an overall good ambiance to the hotel and wonderfully helpful and pleasant staff, I was so frustrated not being able to use the web to stay in touch with my office that I moved to another hotel for the duration of my trip. I hate writing this review, because I believe this is a special, historic place with immense charm and excellent staff. Nonetheless, if you are going to Asuncion for more than a day or two, I cannot recommend the hotel.
