Gateway Inn was in the perfect location, getting to the park was so easy and we were able to completely skip the line. The staff was great, and the property was amazing for what we paid for. Will definitely be returning!

The property is located just outside of Mt. Rainier National Park. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only negative was when we arrived at the property, there were dozens of flies on the curtains. The gentleman at the front office provided us with two fly strips. Most of the flies were gone after the third night when we checked out.

The cabin was cute on the outside but really run down on the inside. The building was on an uneven surface and it looked like it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in a while. Many of the surfaces were layered with dust and the room smelled musty. Convenient location right outside the Nisqually entrance of Mt. Rainier National Park.

If you are looking to unplug and enjoy nature, this is the place. The unique cabins offer excellent privacy and are kept immaculate and quiet. There is no cell service. They offered Wifi but we were not lucky to connect which we actually loved because it forced us to step away from the real world. Plus, being right outside the park entrance meant we beat all the traffic and had no lines.

We showed up after the office was closed. The board had our name and cabin number. The key was in the cabin. We had no cell service there and no way to use WIFI, if they had it. They didn't have a password for it. The cabin was clean.

The standard room did not match the photos advertised online and the property felt very outdated overall. Upon check-in, the staff member who escorted us to the room mentioned wanting to make sure it wasn’t “dusty,” which unfortunately did not inspire confidence. The room itself showed signs of poor maintenance, and rodent droppings were present. The location is convenient, but beyond that, this was simply a place to sleep and shower. For the price charged, the value was not there, especially considering the condition of the property. The Wi-Fi also did not work during my stay. The hotel is in need of significant renovations and updates.

I had an overall pleasant stay at the Gateway Inn in Ashford, Washington. One of the biggest advantages of this property is its location—being right near the entrance to Mount Rainier National Park makes it incredibly convenient for anyone planning to explore the area. The surrounding scenery is beautiful and really adds to the experience. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. There were a few drawbacks, however. The room we stayed in had a noticeable slant to the floor, which was a little unusual and took some getting used to. The internet service was also spotty at times, although the hotel does disclose this ahead of time, so it wasn't entirely unexpected given the location. Additionally, there were no TV channels available during our stay, which may be disappointing for guests looking to relax indoors after a day of exploring. That said, if your main goal is to enjoy the natural beauty of Mount Rainier and stay close to the park entrance, Gateway Inn is a convenient option with friendly service and a great setting. Just be prepared for a few rustic quirks that come with staying in such a remote and scenic area.
