Reuben and Paula were extremely helpful in our time of need. They made our Camino stay comfortable and satisfying. Thank you for helping my friend when she was tired and ill.
We stayed at Fogar de Lecer while walking the Camino de Santiago, and it is a beautiful, immaculately clean, and beautifully decorated property. Meeting the charming entrepreneurs behind the business was a highlight—they are clearly working hard to grow and develop their services.
A quick tip for future pilgrims: the hotel is located outside Arzúa's town center, so keep the logisitics in mind if you need services like a laundromat. Getting a taxi into town can be tricky, especially on rainy days. Additionally, the rooms currently do not have air conditioning, which can be noticeable during warmer summer spells. Overall, it’s a wonderful, promising property—just plan ahead for transportation and local errands!
This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had and I would not recommend it to anyone.
The room was advertised as having a "garden view", but in reality it overlooked a construction site. To make matters worse, the room was located right next to the kitchen, and the constant noise from staff, loud conversations, shouting, and music made it very difficult to relax or sleep.
The cleanliness and overall comfort were also major concerns. There were far too many mosquitoes, and possibly bed bugs, which made the stay extremely unpleasant.
Even basic amenities felt neglected. The toilet paper was of such poor quality that it was uncomfortable to use.
Another example of the lack of maintenance was a large coffee machine that was supposedly out of order, with staff claiming they had been waiting for a technician for days. This seemed to reflect the general state of the property.
Overall, the hotel felt poorly managed, noisy, and misleading in its descriptions. Definitely not worth the money.
