A wonderful nights sleep!

Arriving at Bongate we wondered about the road noise...but our room overlooked the beautiful gardens and the field and was really peaceful. Breakfast was delicious and service attentive. Thank you for a lovely stay

Great stay

Nice big king size bed which was very comfortable and great pillows. Good sized room (8) on ground floor with large shower. Very quiet and not disturbed by any outside noise. Good selection at breakfast of hot and cold foods.

We only stayed one night but it was a fabulous stay and we’d highly recommend Bongate house. The location is perfect - only a few minutes walk into Appleby town centre. Anbe was the most obliging host; warm and welcoming with everything well organised. She even booked us a table at a local pub for our evening meal. The room was spacious and clean with well stocked refreshments. The bed was very comfortable with crisp white linen. Breakfast was superb and there was a wide selection of high quality foods and drinks; nothing was too much trouble. We wish Anne all the best and hope to stop here again in the future.

The owner Anne could not have been more helpful and friendly and keen to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The Bondgate is pet friendly and this was the first time we had stayed in a place with our dog. It was very easy and welcoming.

What an amazing place. Ann was lovely, the room was one of the most comfortable we have ever stayed in and the location is so convenient for a walk into town or a drive to the Lakes. Definitely recommend and will be returning!

The lady who greeted us was very nice and helpful but we were a bit disappointed when we were shown to our room only to find scaffolding at the window. We were just pleased that the following morning was a Sunday and there were no workmen working on it. It was such a shame as there was another room which was empty during our stay and unfortunately the view from our room rather spoilt our stay.

Thank you for a lovely stay 😊 Room 2 with the balcony was extremely comfortable and had amazing views of the gardens and countryside. Hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. Breakfast was very tasty, thank you for the veggie sausages, they were delicious! Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Friendly welcome from Ann and Mike. Very comfortable huge bed. Modern, clean en suite. Our room was spacious and had plenty of room for our dog and her bed. Overall, a happy stay at Bongate, and would recommend it.
