There is nothing that didn’t stand out. The Lark and Loon is a very special place. It’s so close to the heart of the town. It’s beautiful. It is full of intrigue and mystique, but most of all it is run by two of the most wondrous people. From the moment we stepped onto the property we were drawn in. Kevin and Lesley are brilliant hosts. Kevin’s enthusiasm is contagious, and he and Lesley provide the perfect balance for any visitor. The beds are absurdly comfortable, the environs so quiet and full of things to look at. I learned an incredible amount of local history, as well. Plus the breakfast! The fresh toast, the parfait, the scrambled eggs…it was worth getting up for. It’s a magical place, it truly is. We left feeling more like family than guests. Our hosts were knowledgeable and kind, and truly love Annapolis Royal. Plus…there is a scavenger hunt. I’ll say no more. If you’re looking for an experience to remember…absolutely you cannot go wrong with the Lark and Loon.

The Lark and Loon was a unique and fascinating b&b which provided a well appointed place to sleep and several comfortable, inviting common rooms to relax and reflect. Our hosts were friendly and attentive. The delicious breakfast was elegantly served. The L& L was a delightful find.

This was our first time at a bed & breakfast so we were a bit anxious. However, Kevin & Leslie made our stay one of the most wonderful we've ever had. Think about the most thoughtful person you know - this is the two of them. Everything is elegantly presented and immaculately clean because they want to provide the best possible experience for their guests. They have put so much love into the design of their property and into the special touches they provide for their guests.Topping it all off, breakfast was a top-notch event as well. Kevin & Leslie have truly spoiled us and we very much look forward to the next time we are able to visit the Lark & Loon!!!

Beautiful Victorian home with comfortable upgrades. Bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve had on our vacation. Breakfast was a yummy fruit & yogurt parfait with buttery soft freshly baked scones on lovely china service. Wonderful!

Beautiful property with very comfortable accommodations. There is a good amount of space for relaxing in the extra living room areas, which are decorated to highlight the history of the house and town. Proximity to town is great and the kind hosts are friendly and share information about dining, history, and more. Unfortunately, we were in a rush and did not get to enjoy the breakfast but we will have to return to enjoy it as we had no doubt it would be excellent due to the high level of detail apparent in every part of the inn. Highly recommend!

I liked the Victorian style house apparently designed by an Italian architect as told by the owner who welcomed us with a big smile. The house, today, completely renovated still retains the charm of the era and with the collection of ceramics displayed on windowsills, shelves and tables both created by the owner himself and other artists, appears as a little jewel that I had the pleasure of experiencing even just for one night. The room was spacious and very clean. Everything smelled really good even the towels and the blankets. Breakfast takes place in the living room on the ground floor with other guests and is personalized based on your preferences, eating habits and allergies. We are vegan and they served us a vegan breakfast with bread made by the owners. Everything was delicious. I definitely recommend it.

Based on reviews, our expectations were rather high, but Lark & Loon exceeded those expectations. Lesley and Kevin are wonderful hosts. The room was lovely and breakfast wonderful- especially the homemade bread. Thank you.

Kevin was a wealth of knowledge, effusively sharing history of the area and recommendations of things to see and do. Breakfast was wonderful, the house and furnishings tasteful, and the area beautiful. Our best stay yet in Nova Scotia.

Wonderful service, food and location

Kevin and Lesley were great hosts and the property is stunning. The breakfast was delicious and the bed extremely comfortable. The experience is very intimate since there are only six guests at a time. As a result Kevin gave us plenty of attention and also some great dining and sight seeing suggestions. The location is excellent with the small but cute town of Annapolis Royal just a 15 minute walk from the property. The town has numerous art galleries plus a wine bar, brewery, and some excellent restaurants. Pro tip: make your lodging reservation here well in advance since they book up months ahead of time. This is truly a 10 out of 10 experience!

Great place to stay. Clean, authentic and the breakfasts are delicious. Also it is a 10 minute walk from downtown. The hosts are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Next time we are in the area we’ll make sure to stay there again. I definitely recommend the Lark and Loon.
