We have stayed at The Powfoot Hotel as a stopover on the way to our final destination in Scotland. It is an absolute gem. Of course there are newer and plusher hotels but this place takes some beating for its idyllic location, courteous and professional service, cleanliness, comfort and good value restaurant. Well done all of you at The Plowfoot Hotel, you have put this place firmly on the map for us.

Powfoot Hotel

Powfoot Hotel is a comfortable hotel in a lovely position on the estuary. It is a touch tired in places, thread bare carpet on the main staircase, cracked sinks and rattly doors, but staff were attentive and the food in the restaurant was very nice indeed. The additional balcony with outside furniture for rooms 1-4 was a really nice bonus that I don't remember being advertised and had great views out over the bay and golf course. Great for a brief stop over on the way to Scotland.

Super hotel, awesome views, staff extremely helpful and friendly. Easy parking, bar area has a lovely wood burner that gives the area a warm glow. Food in restaurant very tasty and good value for money.

Lovely hotel and great service

This is our third stay at this hotel and each time the service and experience has been excellent. The food in the restaurant was top class - couldn’t fault it. The salmon dish was wonderful. Highly recommended.

Perfect Powfoot

Really lovely hotel - I can recommend without hesitation. Staff are brilliant and food is great. It is very quiet and the walks along the shoreline are a delight.

Have stayed here a number of times over the last few years, this is by far the best hotel in the area, I’ve stayed in a few but this is number 1 by far. the views from this place are absolutely brilliant, what a fantastic place. Special mention to all the staff as the service is fantastic, always has been.

Total Gem! Beautiful views, amazing food….rooms are fresh, clean and tastefully decorated. The hotel sits overlooking the sea and the beautiful Golf course which enhances the tranquility. The restaurant is the real winner here and a must visit for residents or non residents. I have been back twice in the last two weeks!!.

Our room was spotless. The bathroom had a large shower and was immaculate. For a small friendly hotel it met our expectations and more. The service at both diner and breakfast was london standard and so friendly. The food was delicious and served hot. Good menu selection too. Amazing and very relaxing.

A really lovely hotel and a very lovely room too. Main issue was that my partner is vegan and I have a dairy allergy and the vegan options at breakfast were pretty much non-existent. Staff were lovely though and I will definitely be back
