Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The cabins were so comfortable and well appointed with crockery and cutlery. We loved lying on the grass and watching the stars at night. It’s a short drive from Gympie and Rainbow Beach. Sensational sunsets. Loved feeding the pigs and sheep. Perfect for a peaceful stay on a farm with a lovely view of the forest. If you want to chill can strongly recommend. Will definitely return.

It was a very peaceful stay, loved the outlook and all the animals around. Brian was very helpful. My only thing that i found was the bed was a bit uncomfortable

The cottage that we stayed in needs a very good clean. Dust and mould all around cottage. Cobwebs off roof and on all windows. Cockroaches in bathroom. Hard to sleep due to dust. Doonas dirty with stains.

What a great time away with the family. Feeding pigs, watching cows, patting chickens! Brian (host) was available but non invasive. The kids loved the pool :)

This place is so quiet and peaceful. Loved being greeted by Sheepy (the resident sheep) on arrival. Very comfortable with all the amenities needed for a great stay and I particularly liked being able to feed my leftover salad vegetables to the resident pigs (under control in their pen)

Welcoming, peaceful, and beautiful location. Amazing self contained cottages, with comfortable beds. Great for a soul searching getaway on your own, but looking forward to taking the kids!

This is in a great location, perfectly tucked away from the world but still close enough (about 30mins drive) to everything. Could have done with a bit of a clean up outside - think dust, moth eggs, spider webs - and a bit more communication on arrival ... like what we can do, what we should do around the cabin, animal names, etc.

Booked in for 2 nights but extended our stay for 1 more night it was so peaceful. Owner very helpful and accommodating . Central enough to do day trips to Tin Can Bay, Rainbow Beach and Gympie.

Ever heard the filament in a lightbulb cool down?

'Cause we have now! Lake Barra Cottages are so lovely and quiet and so peaceful you can literally hear a pin drop (or more accurately the filament in a lightbulb tick as it cools down!). We arrived at night, via a dirt road (well graded and my little hatchback did just fine!), to property with no lights on which, at first, seemed a little eerie. Don't worry, it's FINE, we just got there a tad earlier than anticipated and they hadn't left our porch lights on yet! Our cottage was very well appointed, clean, tidy and the beds very comfortable (hubby slept walked and actually managed to try all three beds in one night...y'know, for quality inspection purposes! *eyeroll* sorry guys!). But best of all was the peace and quiet sitting on that front deck looking at the stars at night, or the incredible view over the property in the morning. It's about 25mins from Gympie so make sure you bring the necessities with you (wine/chocolate). Oh, and be aware, Wotif doesn't take the funds for your stay (or didn't in our case), it's payable at the accommodation on this one! I just assumed it was same as others we have booked. 100% would stay again! Loved our little weekend getaway.

Absolutely fantastic place to visit. Cottages were very roomy, and well set up for four people. Views magnificent. Pool well used by kids and loved piglet. Owners very friendly and helpful.
