Air conditioning was not working 2 nights of my 3 night stay. Some electric outlets not working. No lift when staying on third floor is rough. Multiple television channels not coming through. Young staff that seem to be trying but not up to the task. Location was good. Not a terrible place but would not recommend. Free happy hour was nice. Lesson: you get what you pay for.

This is a typically quaint traditional Amsterdam hotel, with steep stairs (no lift) and canal views (from some rooms). It's currently under renovation and needs some updating but rooms are having air conditioning fitted and the lobby has had an update which looks much more professional. The staff are all really lovely and helpful and any issues quickly and efficiently dealt with. So for any prospective visitors bear in mind that it is a project under way, but at the end of the day, it's a place to sleep when visiting and the rooms are comfortable. A major plus is the daily FREE 'Happy Hour' (16.00 - 18.00) with beer, wines, coffee and snacks provided. Would we go back, most certainly!

Do not stay here. There were bed bugs in the room and we had to leave in the middle of the night. We were bit and our bags were effected. They would not refund us for it. The room had a broken ac unit that was leaking onto the floor and the open window left the room noisy and let more bugs in. We lasted roughly 3 hours in the hotel before leaving. Do not stay here

Great location, easy to access all areas of the city either on foot or using the public transport system. Room was clean and tidy, however it was located in the basement which fronted the main road. Access to the room was right next to the breakfast area. It was called a deluxe room. Unfortunately that was not an accurate description at all. Two single b ds pushed together with a mattress topper finishing off the ensemble. Evertime we left the room we would literally bump into someone grabbing food. Not ideal at all.

The best of the hotel is its location. The subway is in walking distance; it is close to the museums. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and gave good advice about the city. There is a happy hour in the hotel with free drinks between 4pm and 6pm every day. The stairs to the rooms are steep; you need to be able to navigate them.

No air con & mobile ones flooded the room & sent the temperature higher. Our request prior to stay for ground level room was ignored. New offered room was bin storage area with feral cats. Will be seeking some sort of compensation & writing to hotel direct.

We stayed here for only 2 nights and if we were to stay longer we would have cancelled. The air conditioner did not work and we were on the top floor. It was way too hot to sleep. They provided a fan which did not do much. We had to keep the window open to make it bearable but the area is so loud at night we did not sleep a wink the entire time. The afternoon bar with wine and snacks was nice. However I would not stay here again if the A/C is not working. They should not be booking the rooms with no A/C. Very disappointing.

We had a wonderful view of the canal from our window. The breakfast in the morning was very handy and the eggs cooked to order were good. There was a rare heat wave (high of 87 F) and the air conditioning was fantastic. The room was cramped for 2 people ( sit on bed to use laptop) and the bed a bit lumpy and hard. Overall very pleasant.

The hotel is in a good spot in the city however having no lift and arthritis i was pleased i inly had to go down 1 flight of stairs with the cases now my main problem was the room had no privacy for going to the toilet the toilet wall was see-through even though i was with my wife i like a little privacy so i would choose a different hotel next time had no problem with the staff

Amsterdam is for walking so not too challenging there. The Rijk Museum is very close and so are a few otehrrs. It is a it far from the downtonw area, but walking distance. There a few supermarkets nearby.

The manager or rather hotel customer service to customers is very very terrible. My experience with you all is bad been staying in hotels round the world as a traveller and I also give honest review. The review I’m giving now is based on the service I had with this hotel considering the fact of what happened to me on my visa as a foreigner. You people didn’t even assist me by making things easy for me and still took my 2 night that I was asking for my sister to use and eat or change of booking with the two night left. Is unfair. The room was clean, staff friendly and very helpful. Room was hot as fan did not have heavy air flow. We unplugged the fridge it helped remove heat source. Used the dehumidifier it put out hot air but more cool then hot and opened window but loud outside. We would stay here again but ask to stay on first floor. Spiral staircase wears tough with luggage.

We had a great stay. Nothing fancy but clean, easy Metro access, walking distance to all attractions. Would definitely stay there again. There is no elevator so you may have to climb the stairs to the 3rd floor. Wasn’t a big deal.
