This is a gem of a place in a busy city. Unlike 5 star closed properties, this has space, trees, history, personal service, home cooked food (much of it grown on the property), lots of sitting spots (outside and inside) to give guests space to unwind and enjoy nature and Indian culture. They also organize tours to holy sites and to experience local culture.
Lovely historic building from a by gone time. A tranquil settling in a chaotic city allowing one to relax and rejuvenate. Great staff attending to your every need. Wonderful breakfast . A grest place to stay, will return in the future for sure.
Not the most helpful staff, I fell sick, and the staff didn't help my wife with getting the meds.

Disliked: Staff & service
This old bungalow-turned-hotel had charm, but our stay was marred by issues. No lift was a significant inconvenience when a medical emergency cropped up. Two dogs on campus may delight some, but not all. Personalized service was lacking; we felt no connection with the owner or staff. Old family photos in corridors felt creepy.
Rigid policies were another letdown. They can ask you to pay extra for early check-in, in cash. Despite a medical emergency prompting a two-day early checkout, with 16 hours' notice, we were charged for an extra day. This inflexibility and lack of empathy overshadowed the hotel's potential. It might work for some, but, overall, for us, it fell short of expectations.
Small attentions such as little gift upon departure , checking that your change is the right one , family type of welcome , making sure we know how to go to central part of the city , and very important in Indian cities , absolute quietness and calm .
Beautiful hotel with lovely staff, rooms clean and great location

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Property and building is lovely with garden and courtyards. The bathroom in our room did not have hot water and took two complaints to get it fixed. The bathroom was old and musty with a scary looking bathtub. Owners run their own taxi service out of the hotel and charge a premium. Breakfast room is very nice with delicious breakfasts.
SVAASA is a enchanted hotel located in a quiet neighborhood, with beautiful and comfortable rooms, calming environment and very dedicated stuff. It shows that every spot of the hotel is thought of and decorated with love. we definitely come back
We were 2 couples in 2 suites. The only place in 7 weeks of travel that we could open the door to blazing sunshine and enjoy several different places where we could sit in relative privacy. Ranjits is an oasis down a lane off the main road and lovely and quiet at night. All staff absolutely charming, special thanks to the lovely breakfast attendant who was unswerving polite and smiley whatever the request. Would happily recommend.
During a weekend excursion to see the Golden Temple, I wanted to experience the “old world charm” of the old hotels in the area and this did not disappoint. Every corner you turn leads you to a space where you can sit back and relax. The room was nicely appointed, though the AC unit had a hard time keeping up with the heat outside. With the ceiling fans on, it was quite comfortable.
The food was delicious and the service very friendly. If I had stayed another day I would have tried out the spa as well ... I will definitely return!
