I did stay at this facility. Upon arriving, I told the front desk that I would not stay when I realized that the rooms opened to the street. Since I am 73, safety is a big issue to me.
I asked if there was a different La Quinta hotel that had enclosed access to the rooms, but the front desk told me that because I booked with a third party, transferring my reservation was not an option. Each La Quinta was individually owned and they did not share reservations.
I also asked for assistance with the cancellation of this reservation, but the front desk indicated that I would need to contact the third party. I did not have the third party contact info with me and was on a very short timeline to be somewhere within 90 minutes. I needed to find an acceptable hotel, check in and get dressed.
I left and searched for an alternate hotel. I ended up staying at Hyatt Place on Coulter which was a lovely experience. I would certainly book at Hyatt Place in the future.
I have received a bill from La Quinta for my stay which I will contest when I have time. I am currently dealing with a serious illness of a family member, and need to focus my attention and energy on that.
Based on this experience, La Quinta no longer is a brand I would consider, nor would I book with Expedia again at this point.
I had used Expedia previously, and had positive experiences. This experience was very unpleasant and the staff at La Quinta was not helpful at all in resolving my issue.
