"Large well equipped room - spotless
Clean bright bathroom with large shower
Sauna was quick to heat up & welcomed after a day walking the streets of Tallinn exploring the sights"
"Spectacular hotel. So well maintained. Every "i" is dotted, every "t" crossed. Proximity in Old Town is perfect for sightseeing. The restaurant & food impeccable. 5 stars all around."
"We stayed in their sister hotel next door 10+ years ago. When this place csme up in our search we jumped on it. First the bad. Public área carpet and seats had stains on them. Our third floor room facing the street above the entrance had a lot of road noice and from people entering. The spa and pools needs upkeep and refreshing. On our last day a large group of tourist were loud and drunk and our room ac developed a ticking noice. However I would recomend this place. I got an excellent deal with the spa included, went to it everyday for a few hours. The breakfast buffet had a lot of variety. The typical American fare and Estonian touches. I told my wife I cant stay in American hotels because I am leaning to more vegetarian options. They also had ice cream for the kids like me. The room and property were very clean. The exception noted previously. I.am glad we got to experienced it and would go back again."
"I recently stayed at Original Sokos Hotel Viru and overall had a pleasant stay. The hotel is well located, the room was comfortable, and the staff I interacted with were generally friendly.
However, the check-in experience left a sour taste. I arrived at approximately 1:15 p.m. and was told that my room was already ready. Despite the room being available, I was informed that I would need to pay an additional €15 to access it before the official 3:00 p.m. check-in time.
Rather than pay the fee, I waited in the lobby with my wife, a 3-year-old child, a 6-month-old infant, and our luggage. At approximately 2:00 p.m., I approached the desk again and a different employee checked us in immediately at no charge.
This made the policy feel arbitrary and inconsistent. If a room is ready and available, especially for a family travelling with young children, charging an extra fee simply to access an already-prepared room creates a poor first impression. The fact that I was later checked in for free only added to the confusion.
I understand hotels have published check-in times, but when a room is sitting ready and vacant, a more customer-focused approach would go a long way.
Overall, a good hotel, but the handling of the early check-in situation was disappointing and unnecessary."
"Booked a superior room and stayed 2 nights. Travelled by public transport - bus stop within 100 metres - but there seemed to be plenty of parking.
Excellent buffet breakfast although even the large dining area got very busy at 7am with coach parties
Hotel well out of city centre - but frequent buses get you there within 25 minutes"
