We were greeted by someone that spoke no english which was quite uneasy seeing as how we just arrived on the island at 6pm (sunset) and wanted to familiarize ourselves with the space. "Totoco ecco resort has a magnificent view of the conception volcano which was the best part of our stay. You can also watch the breathtaking sunset while enjoying drink. The staff is exceptional. A few things to keep on mind. The resort is on a steep hill and requires transportation that can go up rough terrain. Also it would be wise to bring a flashlight as there is no lights when walking path to your cottage. Also be aware of insects infestations like ants, and creepy crawlers. This is to...

"I had the misfortune to arrive by bus from Managua on a rainy day. I thus had difficulty in finding the Hostal. When I did, at aout 7 pm, the person at the reception did not even ask to identify me, and I was led to a room with a window giving on the corridor, a small old sink giving only a tiny fillet or water, etc. Only cold water, but that seems to be general in San Juan. I eventually got used to all these "perks"..."
