Didn’t know had booked room with shared bathroom as not easy to find on Hotels.com. It is there but in more info otherwise room &owners and breakfast were great
The room was clean but decor dated. Bedside lamp shades were broken. When booking we had not spotted that it was a shared bathroom rather than en suite. The bathroom was shared by four rooms. There was an additional shared toilet with no natural light, a dim lightbulb, a step just inside the door and the door wouldn’t shut properly. The TV was paired with an unfathomable remote control that led to channels requiring subscriptions when all we wanted to do was watch the main UK terrestrial channels. There was noise coming up from the bar; we heard the pub doors .shut at 11:30 but the noise continued until 2am. Cigarette smoke also came into the room from either outside the front of the pub or from the back. It was a hot night but we had to keep the window shut because of the noise and cigarette smoke. We were offered the opportunity to purchase breakfast at £12.50 each which we declined as we considered this to be overpriced compared to both similar and more superior rated hotels. The price we’d paid for the room was what we would have expected to pay at Travelodge, Days Inn or Premier Inn where a reasonable standard is assured.
