Very nice guesthouse with fantastic hosts. A very good breakfast with a nice variety of food including homemade sweet breads and jam . We recommend getting a dinner there. Hiking trails through the vineyards nearby.

We loved staying at Casa Dona Edite! It’s a tastefully decorated, modern guesthouse and the owners, Antonio and Cristina and their son, Eduardo are the perfect hosts. Cristina is an excellent Cook and baker, and we strongly recommend to have your dinner meals there. She also bakes loaves and cakes as part of the breakfast offerings. Well worth the drive up the hill to stay at their place!

Nice home. Family run. Very kind, and hosts go out of their way to accommodate you. Food was tasty and welcoming. Facilities are nice. However keep in mind that this location is a bit remote.

I can’t say enough good things about the family that runs Casa Dona and the property. They went above and beyond for our stay. From recommendations on what to do, traditional Portuguese dinners being served; cooked by the family and when my wife and I couldn’t get a taxi in the morning they drove us to the train station. The property was beautiful, clean and quiet.

The stay was wonderful! The pool had great places to sit and was a nice way to relax after going on a wine tour. We had dinner when we stayed and it was really good as was the breakfast. Everyone was very friendly and helpful!

This is a new bed and breakfast and was very modern and clean. The husband, wife and son team running it were wonderful and very accommodating. We showed up at dinner time without a reservation for dinner and they were able to serve us a wonderful dinner. I would definitely recommend it.

Amazing hidden gem in Douro valley!

What an amazing stay! This place is beautiful, clean and comfortable. The location is amazing. The best part are the amazing hosts! They make it very comfortable and can provide great local tips. Very relaxing environment and a great breakfast included. It was such a good hidden gem that my wife and I considered canceling the rest of our travel plans the next week to just stay, relax and take in the area.

Amazing hospitality!

I came as a solo traveler. The stay was quite, safe, comfortable, and clean. I arrived and did not realize the proximity to nearby resturants, for someone without a car. The owners were very kind they made me a salad and sandwich for dinner that evening. There was a continental breakfast included. They even arranged trabsportation the next morning for me. I am extremely grateful for their hospitality and kindness. You can tell how much they care about their property and guests. I would highly recommend.

Our stay at Casa Dona Edite Guesthouse was a highlight of our trip to Portugal. We had spent time in Lisbon and Porto, two incredible cities, and loved them both, but moving up to the hills above the Douro Valley gave us a completely different experience of the country. The rural setting, with outstanding views of the terraced vineyards below, was very special. We also absolutely loved the family who owns this new guesthouse. They are all completely committed to its success, including their 19-year-old son Eduardo who speaks about 7 languages and is very polite, hard-working, and helpful. The breakfast is perfect and the inn is beautifully decorated. I recommend this inn to anyone who wants to spend a couple of nights in the Pinhao area. Be aware that the road up the hill is quite steep, with many twists and turns, but the views are worth it!

Staying at the Casa Doña Edite Guesthouse is an amazing experience. It is a 15 minute drive from Pinhão but truly worth it. Our room was very clean and comfortable and I think the pool view rooms may be best. Bathrooms are large with an excellent shower. A sitting common area is available for use if required. The entire building is near new and aesthetically pleasing. Breakfast was a nice selection and don’t miss out on the homemade jams and cakes. They are delicious. The family that owns this stay are exceptional as they attend to every detail. Eduardo speaks excellent English and has a great knowledge of Portuguese food and customer service. The highlight of the stay is the Portuguese home cooked dinners that are offered in the guesthouse dining room each night. 4 courses of utter home cooked deliciousness. Simply the best food we had in Portugal. Thank you to our new found friends in Vilarhino de Cotas.

Loved our stay at Casa Dona Edite. The rooms were very clean and modern. The owners Antonio and Cristina were the most amazing hosts. The dinner option they offer is a must.
