Nice hotel

Nice hotel, january not the time to go to Portugal but found this hotel comfortable, about a 15 minute walk from old town, shopping centre near bye which does food and a mcdonalds not too far away. Old town was mainly closed, there were 350000 there new year apparently.

Nothing wrong

A fairly basic hotel. Quiet, tidy with simple furnishings. The staff are fine I assume, apart from someone pottering away in reception we didn’t really see any. The bar is small, slow and always queued. It wasn’t the 4 star I was expecting, but it served the purpose. At least there weren’t any rowdy stag or hen parties that plagued other hotels.

The staff are super friendly and worked very hard to make it a great stay for their guest. We stayed in off season but I recommend this hotel for a great sleep very close to a grocery store. Indoor pool was about 27.5 degree which was cool when you first get in but you can stay in for a couple hours.

Relaxing,clean ,friendly

Solaqua is a great place to stay,the staff,take no nonsense from trouble makers ,as we experienced during or stay,a problem raised by a sun bather at the pool in connection with drunken 40 year old males on a stag holiday at the pool and was resolved by the receptionist lady within minutes who gave them a warning for eviction in front of all at the pool.. ...no more trouble.Well done Solaqua.

Unique spot close to everything. Disappointed free advertised breakfast not available, restaurant not open, bar opened March 1st. Pool outdoors not open. Staff very attentive, responsive, helpful.

The rooms feel outdated. This must have been a great hotel years ago but it is an OK property today. I don’t think think it is worth the price paid.

Walkable to old town, really clean hotel and friendly staff. The beds were really comfy and we slept well every night. The little kitchen is fine for small snacks. We didn't use it except the fridge for drinks which was handy to have. The Wi-Fi was free and really good. The pool bar was expensive for beers although we did use it for convenience but after a day or so we decided to go to the supermarket across the road for drinks and snacks and we noticed a lot of people doing the same. It was our 10 year anniversary and reception bought us a bottle of champagne to our room which was very well received. The hotel has a spa with very reasonable prices, it also offers excursions bookable at reception. It offers a shuttle into town every hour free of charge which we didn't find out until our last day and 2 taxis a day later.. Room service is available at a small charge too. You can also borrow a iron from reception and the safe is charged per day and has a 10 euro deposit required. The hair dryers in the room are really good! Tip - make sure you use the card on your door for cleaning required or DND as we had a maid walk in on us twice we had forgotten to use it! 😆

Nous avons apprécié le calme de l'hôtel, les grands espaces de l'appartement, la propreté et l'amabilité du personnel, le billard (payant) et la proximité de la ville. Nous regrettons le manque d'équipement de la cuisine : pas d eggoutoir pour les pates, pas de poêle ni de quoi laver la vaisselle (eponge et produit a vaisselle).. un chauffage bruyant (nous l'avons coupé la nuit) La piscine intérieure est petite et peu chauffée. ..l'établissement manque d'équipement, une salle de sport serait un plus. Le petit dej était très bien mais quel dommage d'etre dans une pièce sans fenêtre et si sombre, alors que le bar de l'hôtel situé à côté est vide, lumineux et offre une meilleure vue.

Hotel location is excellent

When we arrived the gentleman who checked us in was very polite and professional. The room was lovely and clean. However the only thing that lets the hotel down a little is the blonde haired lady on reception she’s not very pleasant to deal with she’s abrupt, rolls her eyes and most defiantly doesn’t make u feel like she is willing to help. But all other staff seemed to go over and beyond to help. So maybe she could brush up on her customer care a little. I noticed she was abrupt to other guests as well. Would go back but just hope we don’t have to deal with that lady.

Nice hotel but wifi is a problem

Wifi is not included and buying hotspot cards for very poor wifi is something that can be fixed very easily. Except for this one issue, a nice hotel, clean and great location .
