There was a problem with my reservation, but the lady upgraded me to a suite (I only had to pay $100 for the 2 days), which was worth it. They use an a/c unit in the rooms; there was two fans in my suite. The room does get cold enough to be comfortable. I like my morning coffee, but they only had a small coffee pot with no cream or sugar, so I just got my coffee at breakfast. They have breakfast from 7-9am. The breakfast is decent; it's continental. There is a microwave and fridge/freezer in the room. Overall, it was good for the two nights I spent there. The only thing that I didn't like was the bathroom sink is very small and sits over the toilet.

We stayed here for one night with a group of five and had a wonderful experience. The owner was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Breakfast the following morning was excellent, offering a wide variety of delicious options. The hotel is also conveniently located, making it a great choice for travelers. Highly recommended!

This is an old property with nice antique charm. The rooms were a bit small, but still worth the money. Breakfast was good with some hot options. We enjoyed the ambience.

The toilet is situated right next to the very small sink-I used the sink as an arm rest. The toilet poorly accommodates large people. The shower stall and tub need refinishing. I was pleasantly surprised that Netflix and Prime are available at no cost. The hotel is an historical site and I appreciate that.

This was a unique hotel but it is very dated and is very worn, but our room WAS clean. The breakfast timing window was short, and food was OK, but was included in the stay, so it was good enough! It’s still a bit of a haul to Great Sands from here which is why we were staying here.

We enjoyed our stay at this clean and well kept historic hotel during our visit to the annual Sandhill Crane Festival. It is conveniently located near eateries, wild life sanctuaries, and the glorious Sangre de Cristo mountains. For anyone who loves staying at old historic inns, the Monte Villa is ideal..

This 1930's hotel was a delight to stay in. Keep in mind that this hotel still has so much of the original infrastructure, the electrical would be insane to fully update as well as the plumbing etc. The owners try to keep the old world charm that this hotel is known for but that comes with not always having the up to date conveniences that we are all used to. Sure they only have portable AC units but to upgrade the electrical in that building would drive the cost of room stays up to much higher amounts. To renovate the bathrooms and plumbing would do the same. We personally loved the throw back to the early 1900's feel this place had. The owners are just wonderful hardworking people. We had a flight issue and were delayed by hours and would miss check in. One call and the owner texted me directions on how to self check in and also told me to get food in Colorado Springs before making the drive as all restaurants in the town are closed early. They checked on us the next day making sure we were comfortable and happy. Support these local owners, they put alot into this place!! This is the place we will stay when in Monte Vista!!

Nice restored old hotel, but not made too fancy. Walking distance of several restaurants. Easy access to to Monte Vista National Wildlife refuge so great place to stay for the annua sandhill crane festival. Decent breakfast.

The only place where the owner walks you through the building to makes sure you find your room . And breakfast was fresh and good . The rooms are clean with pillows that dont hurt your neck in the morning .
