Stay somewhere else
I've never left a bad review about a hotel, but I feel I have to share how poor this experience was so that others don't find themselves in the same position. We loved Palau, it was an amazing experience, but the hotel almost ruined it. It was terribly disappointing. The staff were often very rude to us, and we were nickel and dimed for EVERYTHING! Nothing listed as an amenity is complimentary. The airport is less than 2 miles from the hotel, yet they charged us $40.00 for a ride in. That's more expensive than two fancy dinners in town. When we told a cab driver we paid that much he was appalled and took us back to the airport at the end of our stay for $10. Wifi isn't free, and it didn't even work in our room. Papago charged us steep rates for wifi and then refused to refund it when the error message literally said "This internet connection is not on," we even looked at the router ourselves and informed the management that it had been off/unplugged our entire stay.
They also would only address my husband, they would not look at or speak to me, and only called him sir. While I don't mind leaving him in charge, it became irritating and offensive that I couldn't speak to any staff.
The pictures of this hotel are misleading, the rooms are not nearly as nice as they look, and our mattress was more of a box spring with a sheet on it than a bed.
Like I said, we never leave poor reviews but we wish someone would have told us so we could've stayed elsewhere and saved our money!
