Parking was easy and felt safe. The staff were welcoming but didn't speak English language easily. However check-in went smoothly. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and tasty.

A quirky and odd looking place. Room was ok, bathroom not totally clean, old towels and an unappetizing breakfast. Location for our family times was key for choice. Town of Abingdon was lovely.

The only thing good about this place is the parking. One resident who had been there for a few weeks likened it to faulty towers- he was being extremely generous. Doors don’t lock, shower didn’t work, dangerous corner stairs in bedroom , green tinged bottle of free water, mouldy fridge and walls, empty cans inside and out which I were told had been there for weeks and not very helpful staff on the phone when trying to get the locks to work for basic security

We stayed in one of the rooms next to the property met eventually by a lady whos English was not brilliant but pleasant, microwave in entrance to our room with piles of leaflets next to it definitely a safety issue, mismatch furniture cobwebs light switches dirty, bathroom mats tatty, sink plug not attached to chain, no pull cord for the toilet only the chain . lots of cables connected to extension leads. Breakfast plates cold food warm, no teapot only mug with teabag in it individual honey was partly crystalized. Understand this is an old building but needs some TLC.. good parking but near a busy road, outside space needs some up keep empty beer cans left dead plants. Different websites have different photos of the interior and outside area. First time on leaving a negative review on places we have stayed over the years.

Staff mostly spoke little or no English, this in the heart of Oxfordshire. Breakfast was very poor quality, cheapest items possible and poor presentation. 1 piece overcooked bacon, 1 pork sausage ok, scrambled egg ok, beans ok, horrible coffee and toast supplied warmed up rather actually toasted. Room was accessed from a staircase at the rear of the untidy former pub property which was mostly unconverted. The staircase was shared with a disabled chair lift making the space to carry up bags limited and awkward. The bedroom and bathroom were dusty and dirty in places. Overall, a very disappointing stay not to be repeated.

Nice enough, I had a big room, got a good nights sleep. Only issue was that I stayed a Friday night, and needed to depart about 8AM Saturday morning. They do not offer breakfast on Saturday before 8, so I got nothing.....

i was under the impression that the property was an old style pub with rooms, when i booked. But it turns out just to be a bed and breakfast. The room was lovely and had everything you need, plus more, like a trouser press, a bottle of filtered water with the coffee and tea facilities, a microwave in the shared lobby and plenty of parking and nice outside space to spend in the sunshine/evening

The Abing Plough House is very quirky, but in a pleasant way. We stayed in Flat E which was really a self contained studio flat and part of a cottage on Watery Lane. It has a fridge, microwave and hotplate. I loved it as soon as we opened the front door! If you like items that don't match, maybe needing some tlc, the odd cobweb or three, then you'll love it! If not, then it's not for you. The english breakfast was nicely cooked and was satisfying enough for me. Breakfast is served in what was the bar. Another room full of delightful things to look at. The owner Jack and his family are lovely people who will do anything they can to help you with whatever you need. They are kind, considerate hard working and very helpful. The destination itself, Clifton Hampden,is very quiet and peaceful in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. A few miles from Abingdon. Would I stay there again in the future? 100% absolutely! I personally loved,it as did my companion and it was definitely value for my money.

Excellent location for easy access to Abingdon and Oxford park and ride. We were attending a graduation and needed an early start - breakfast is normally served at 8, but the proprietor was gracious enough to serve ours at 7:30 so that we could get into Oxford on time.

We had a few problems at the beginning - two lamps in the room not working. not easily solved with a receptionist who was pleasant, but didn't speak English. But Jack the Manager did his best to help and sort things out. It didn't help that we were staying over the hottest June day on record and our room was like an oven! But for our 2nd night, Jack found us another room that was much cooler and generally nicer, so full marks to him for arranging that for us. His help was much appreciated. A plus point in this hot weather is that both rooms had fridges!
