Steve is a terrific host and the continental breakfast was delicious. The room we booked on this site did not match the description of the actual room (advertised as two queen beds but actually a queen and a twin) and while that was fine for the first night, it didn’t meet the needs of our family on the second night. Steve moved some reservations around and moved us to a much better building on the second night with plenty of space for four adults. He charged us about $40 for the upgrade, but the space was much larger and had more amenities. The rooms were basically clean and comfortable, but the dark washcloths and towels could not be used because of mildew and there was mildew in the bedding as well. Given the climate, it’s not surprising. The king bed needed new sheets and a new mattress, all four other beds we used were comfortable and soft. Location was superb. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return.
Our cottage had a full kitchen, so traveling with picky eaters was easier. There is a full service grocery store a block away. The beach was 3 minutes away and the marina was 5 minutes away. Clean, comfortable, quiet and dog friendly.

This place isn’t for the pretentious, it’s a wonderful work in progress. It’s homey, grounded, and somewhat under construction. The kind of place where you can just feel the potential and ask yourself “could I build a place like this someday?”
The staff is great. Fresh home made scones and coffee service in the morning, close to lots of interesting things.
We are very glad we came to Westport by mistake. We will be back!
Great location not on the beach. Close to a couple of good restaurants and a great grocery store. Our two bed cabin was nice. (microwave and small refrigerator)There is a fire pit and an area to throw horse shoes. Fresh scones, fruit, coffee, tea and hot chocolate are available in the morning.
Our room was comfortable and cozy. The Inn was quiet and close to town for walking to nearby sights or the beach. Breakfast was a little lacking (though the scones were lovely) and there was nothing to drink if you didn't like coffee.
Nice private, quiet cottage, pet friendly on the bay side of Westport. Walking distance to many restaurants and market. Nice meadow for dog to explore.
The innkeeper is a real gem. The breakfast scones and coffee are a delicious and comforting touch. Very welcoming and accommodating. Clean rooms. Nice big property, close to supermarket.
I liked the old time charm the people were very nice.
I really loved the tree next to our cottage! Ouiet and serene.

Quaint Historic Inn, in Transition
It was not until the next morning, as we quickly dressed, that we discovered the independent baseboard heater on the far wall of the room. Nor was there any explanation, written or verbal, of how the TV (Direct TV satellite) worked.
it was completely misleading. We were not even in the buildings. We were in an old duplex in the parking lot! $350 for 2 nights. We left early Saturday morning after we got our rate reduced to $137. I had requested a ground level room because my husband walks with a cane and has Alzheimer's. There were 3 cement steps up to the room with no railing! This was the worst experience I have had as his caregiver. The man who met us at the desk did not show us the room. I paid and then could not even see it. The room was in a low area next to the road. I think it had been a shed or a garage. Cabin maybe, cottage NO!.
We were warmly greeted by the owner. The grounds are lovely, as is the registration and eating areas. It is quite old, but that is it's charm. The room was charming.

Clean, Quirky, Quiet Place to Stay in Westport
The Glenacres Inn was clean and quirky. We stayed in a corner room with a queen bed and a twin and were generally comfortable. The room showed its age in some respects, with the cramp bathroom being the most obvious sign. Also, the slightest of annoyances involved the TV remote only being synced to the Direct TV box, not the TV itself. We had to get up to change the volume!
Overall, I'd give the place an 8 out 10.
We booked online so didn't know exactly what to expect. When we arrived, we found the Inn to be as welcoming and inviting as the photos and reviews started.
The proprietors are very friendly and gave great information about the local area; where to eat, what to be sure to see.
We found fresh coffee and fresh, warm cranberry scones waiting for us each morning. All in all, it was a relaxing get away we totally enjoyed.
Would we go back? Yes we would.
The owner was kind and accommodating. My husband and I stayed in the cottage with the full kitchen and loved it. This place has character and history. We truly enjoyed our stay.
