「Friendly, approachable,owners couldn’t have done enough for us, beautiful room,exceptional breakfast, would recommend this b&b to anybody wishing to stay in Ambleside 」

「We went as a family of 4 and our stay was great. No problem at all except we got a bit cold at night, but that’s it! Everything else was great. We got free parking just up the road courtesy of the b&b management and breakfast was also included, which wasn’t mentioned on the initial booking. So bonuses all round really!」

「Great central location. Property was well appointed and comfortable. We thought an earlier check in would have improved our experience as it was a very wet day and we were soaking. We didn’t find the cutlery drawer until the next day - we searched everywhere . We eventually rang up and we’re told it was in a hidden drawer . We are still laughing now - it is obvious now we know 😂」

「Great stay a woodbine cottage. It's a great location for all the shops and pubs, and some fabulous hiking from the door. Good sized accommodation for 4, but maybe tight for 6 as the bunk beds are very rickety and small, so maybe not advisable for small children.」

「Lovely stay at Chestnut Villa. Room was well furnished. Bed was very comfy. Had a little sitting room. Bathroom was fab with great fixture and fittings. Rain shower was amazing. Great views both out of the back and front windows. 」

「Natural site, room is in high standard. The host is friendly and his cooking for breakfast is appreciated. Though it takes 15 minutes walk from bus stop, the way around is full of natural feeling. You may breathe a natural smell or listen to sheep voice. It's an excellent experience and will highly recommend my friends to visit and myself is highly and likely to revisit again. 」

「A stunningly beautiful house and gardens in an equally beautiful location, the hosts were very hospitable and very knowledgeable about the local area, the bed was super comfy and ample room in the bathroom with a very good walk in shower, full English breakfast was cooked to perfection, home made Blackberry jam you have to try, local pub nearby for food but remember to book a table for eavning dining. 」

「Our second year visiting. Wonderful husband and wife team who cook and serve us breakfast and I imagine do all the cleaning. I do not know who owns or manages this hotel, but perhaps it is time for the owner to look at certain things in the bedroom (bathroom blind, vanity stool) to be refreshed, and some repainting. The sunroom at the front of the hotel seems to be used as a storage unit which is a great waste of a nice sitting spot. The breakfasts are excellent again due to the husband...
