"I booked this stay last minute and immediately tried to cancel it but Bergen Guesthouse does not accept cancellations. The property is close to the city center, inexpensive and newly - in progress - renovated. However, the walls are paper thin, the rooms lack comfort (our window didn’t close properly, only a ceiling light, no bedside lights, the power outlets didn’t work properly, no TV, no mirror). One full bath and one out of order bathroom to share between 4 rooms on the level we stayed....

"Did not get the information/codes they promised, had to wait for a long time trying to call the hotel who did not respond. After many attempts a distant poorly English speaking person answered and eventually answered. When we got in, the apartment was barely cleaned. A lot of dust and hair. Really nasty to bring little children to a place like that. Very bad experience. "

However, the overall condition of the house did not match what we expected based on the photos shown on the website. The photos only show one bedroom and the living room, which are in acceptable condition, but the rest of the house—including the other five bedrooms, the kitchen, and the second bathroom—were older and in worse condition than the areas shown in the pictures. "The place is new inside. Has a new bathroom and kitchen. A sofa bed and the bed are on the smallish side but comfortable. The living space consists of a single room with a bedroom surrounded by glass. It is cozy and practical. It is at the center of everything and we never needed public transport inside the city. Will definitively stay here again and recommend it."
