"Room is not ventilated, was extremely stuffy and air-conditioning not working. But staff was friendly and after several discussion, offered to upgrade to another room type which allow us to open the window for more ventilation. Breakfast can be quite messy and chaotic when it's crowded, they should have better managed the crowd. "

"Room was spotless and the staff were very polite and went out of their way to help whenever possible. Breakfast was excellent and had a wide variety of different cuisines. Location is on the Bund and it doesn’t get better than that. Many shopping malls nearby and historic attractions are just a short walk away. Besides its rich cultural heritage and history, I highly recommend staying here for its convenience and excellent service."

"This hotel is a historic landmark but is in need of a renovation. Although the room was spacious it had an odd layout and was slightly run down. Carpet is worn down and the room had an odd smell. The bathroom was clean and spacious but wasn’t that usable due to strange design and maintenance issues. The staff was good and the afternoon tea was nice with a good selection of cakes and savoury snacks. Location is good but will require some walking time to get to a metro or convenience store. "
