If you like to walk there are many good places to eat nearby. The only draw back is that the town has only 2 taxis so it might be best to rent a car. Loved the restaurant Hachiya within walking distance. He only takes reservations.

The hotel lobby was beautiful, the location next to the train station was very convenient. They offered private onsens for the best rate I saw, and that was extremely relaxing. 1軒貸し切りなので時間を気にすることなく、のんびり過ごせました!ユニットバスなのと１階にエアコンがないのが残念‥でも７月でも涼しい!寝る部屋にはエアコンあるので気持ちよく、本当にリフレッシュ出来ました!また来年行きたいです♫

Residence Hotel Takayama Station
Spacious apartment complete with washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove and tub centrally located in town for an exceptionally reasonable price.
